I don't get the whole interview obsession.
It's awkward enough for both of them not talking for 15 years. Imagine the questions.. they don't want to answer that shit either.
The best thing is to do some sort of doc showing them interacting together again and smiling etc. That would be great to see but an interview at this time doesn't make sense and I don't see it happening unless it's someone they trust who's only going to ask them about the tour etc and have pre determined questions that doesn't bring up old wounds.

Yeah, but the doc won't stop the questions when the time comes to do interviews. I think Noel is just living up to his own words, "Take the time to make some sense of what you're trying to say." There will be hard questions to answer in those interviews, lots of serious things to address, and he loves working up interviews beforehand. He's always done it. He likes to prepare some stories to keep the interviews interesting in each album cycle (we all remember the 'lock all the doors' story he told like 200 times). So my guess is they're not doing interviews because: 1. They don't need to at this point. Nothing to promote right now, will probably do it when the gigs are closer or the WTSMG30 reissue is announced. 2. They (Noel) are working right now on how the story will be told.

I created a thread about literal gibberish. That’s how desperate we are for more news and overall activity.

But why sell tickets a full year early if you aren’t going to give us some bread crumbs along the way. We don’t even know the band members! Again, it’s being kept secret for a reason that’s obvious. Everything is being kept secret. Noel could easily come out and confirm that won’t be a new album. But he won’t. It’s just so weird, the intentional lack of transparency. Come on Oasis, dig out your soul. They (Gallaghers and managements) knew/know that tickets for reunion tour would be sell out a year in advance without any information/interview and whatsever. PS: Liam at least writes something on Twitter and talks a bit with the fans, even if this is not enough. Noel on the other hand is collecting yet another idiotic behavior with his silence. Why do you always have to end up with Liam vs Noel?

Ugh, we will get something down the line. Probably a documentary, and of course there will be interviews next year before the tour starts. That's something they always liked, the attention of the media. So far, I think they are doing a great job, because it leaves us all wanting more. And before the reunion, we got plenty. Chasing the Sun was great (maybe not for the die-hards like us, we will never be satisfied, but the casual fans got easy access to all the great b-sides with that series.) Supersonic and Knebworth 1996 were great as well, with those releases and the split in 2009 their legacy and status became bigger than it ever was.
We should stop whining about everything.

Was this the big announcement? They should create an award for "worst management" and give it to the Oasis staff. During covid all the other bands were giving away free concert pro shots on YouTube or live sessions never heard before. Oasis did absolutely nothing. Now after the announcement of the reunion on all the news in the world at the end of August, everything is silent, no press conference, no unreleased video or song. Only announcements of ticket sales to raise money. Oasis is known to be legendary, but their reunion and their management for me remains the worst that a band of such a high category could have. PS: Liam at least writes something on Twitter and talks a bit with the fans, even if this is not enough. Noel on the other hand is collecting yet another idiotic behavior with his silence. It isn’t Oasis’ fault that people are impatient whinging crybabies tbf.

Hey “Douchebag in the Dark”, why not just create two new threads for I Hate Noel and I Hate Liam, and then you and the rest of the lot can b*tch and moan about Liam vs. Noel without the rest of us having to hear it?

He doesn't put anything concrete, he just puts things that can become real at any moment, Liam has already tweeted that there will be new faces in the band, and that photo can be taken by anyone, if you read all of Liam's answers you can put things that a lot people don't read and maybe they think you know something

True, but them leaving such a huge black hole doesn't help. But that's not their fault. That's your own expectation. We all want them to do interviews, or make announcements, or give us the full line up and an album, but every time the band ever announced a tour, or a tour in their solo careers, they don't do that. Only when an album is out do they do the interview rounds. Besides, the shows aren't until next year, so maybe they'll start being more active as it gets closer to show time. Hey I'm not saying they're at fault for anything. I'm just saying it's fucking boring, which it is. As a fan, unless you have tickets of course, right now, there are 0 differences between before and after the reunion was announced.... hence it's fucking boring.

They got it right too many times to be a coincidence. Of course it could be, but I think it's someone connected to the band. It's not ideal and it's very cringe when they write like Liam does. But as I said, this is all we have right now.

Well life inside my head is massively different pre and post-reunion. I don’t really give a shit about interviews or whatever. I want live gigs one and new music two.

It would be nice to have some sort of hype train, but that said, I do think we will get one when we get closer to the shows. Or if an album or single is actually in the works. But I do agree, it would be nice to have some things to be hyped about again.

Like an actual band for example. Have Noel and Liam reconciled? Brilliant. That's all this reunion is for now, Noel and Liam working together again. I get that this is the starting point of everything but in the long run, that's not what I care about. I care about the music. Right now, there isn't even a band! Give me something else than marketing their rekinled relationship to sell shitloads of tickets.

I suppose what is boring for one person is incredibly exciting for millions of others. They haven’t even sold all the tickets yet. At some level I get it, but I’m not sure how less “boring” this reunion (which hasn’t even really started) would be if we knew Gem was playing lead or whatever.

At the moment it is sort of like when they were still together and it was between album cycles. They aren't in touch all the time and they are just going about their business. It's not the world's biggest tour but I would imagine they both need a bit of time to relax before going on tour with one another again. I genuinely think that if they were doing interviews now, it would have the potential to go wrong. The wrong thing would be said, the press would be on their backs about something, any new single would get panned (even if it was their best ever song, it would get panned by the music press and idiots on twitter). There will obviously be promo for the tour when the time comes. The tickets are all sold now but they will do something because neither Gallagher is capable of keeping their mouths shut. Noel loves the press and will definitely be there. However, a hype train 10 months before the first gig is an absolutely laughable concept. Even the most die hard fan would be sick of them by the time Fuckin' In The Bushes started on the first night in Cardiff.

Yes they're the kernel of Oasis but and the fact that they're reuniting is cool and all, but it's fucking boring because it's their relationship, not ours. Right now, this could be called "Liam, Noel and friends" for all intents and purposes. It's a nostalgia act, not a band. The only thing happening are the gigs next year and for those who don't have any ticket, this reunion means nothing at the moment. Give me a proper band and then I'll at least feel like there's a future beyond making shit tons of money over a nostalgia tour using their relationship as a selling point.

You don't need new material (whether that's t-shirts or interviews) to sell a nostalgia act and Noel is nothing if he's not lazy. The tour sells itself - why put forth additional effort?

Just finished night shift. It’s 4am here, 9am UK time. Judging from no forum activity, I guess there was no massive announcement lol It was that Liam, Noel, Bonehead, Gem, Chris and whoever the other members might be are going to urinate in a pint glass and lob it at you when you least expect it. Don’t talk to my lover about water sports! Thanks.
