I just wish he'd stop with the gum chewing lol I assume the gum is to keep his throat lubricated. I'm no singer so I could well be wrong.

He wasnt constipated in the 90s, that's all. Its clear something is bothering him since the mid 00s My theory is that at some point he decided his voice was too thin and has been constantly trying to achieve a fuller sound, closer to that raw version of Lennon, while consistently running away from his earlier self, who sang beautifully. He is trying too hard to be cool and everything is too soft for him. I still believe that he can sing if he tries. And people are still saying that he is fine and that he is not shouting 😂 Oh yeah, making comparisons from 30 years apart is really useful 😂

Also his Beady Eyes years and solo years too. I literally heard Liam sing Flick of the Finger at a soundcheck before their concert in Hamburg Lovely memories of "stalking" Liam at the side door in Dublin when he came for soundcheck. I was not the only one!

This is so boring…. Liam’s voice has been at its best comparable to the 1999/01 period of Oasis. No idea what the few complaints are about. I respect Liam so much as he did have a legitimate mental breakdown at the end of Beady Eye. He’s resurrected not only his career, but his personality and Oasis all at the same time. He deserves no hate whatsoever, the man has worked relentlessly over the last decade.

That could easily pass into parody but it doesn’t. Has he done more Bob Marley? Would love to hear him do Redemption Song.

Linkin Park have stolen all the attention from Oasis in the last few weeks. Their promotional tactics seem stronger and more constant. Oasis have invaded the world for a week like a nuclear bomb but all the hype seems to have been absorbed quite quickly. At least for now.

He sang through a thyroid condition for God knows how long. Most of the time he has got it back to roughly 2000 standard which is good enough for me. People say this a lot, but really he's absolutely nowhere near 2000 level. The power in his voice and ability to hold notes was vastly better then. Listen to Supersonic on Familiar to Millions and how he goes high in the chorus. How he finished Rock n roll star properly where now he doesn't even try. He was tired that gig towards the end of the tour but still far better than anything since 2005. This is from 2002, this is probably his best performance since the Be Here now tour, Rock and roll star is phenomenal, listen to him roar at the end.

Hmm, this has just made me consider maybe they're holding back all the PR until they're selling the N America tour, because they might actually need some publicity for that. It'll be interesting if they are suddenly everywhere when those tickets go on sale....

Depends where you are in the world, Linkin Park only trending for about a day here and quickly forgotten whereas Oasis trending no.1 for days and overall for like a week. Plus everywhere you went you couldn't escape talk of em, even people who aren't into music were talking about them, was like the 90s again at one point. Only reason hype has died down is because the ticket sales are over now. But look how many more followers Liam has gained, Noel and Oasis official as well and both brothers constantly in the news for good or bad

The Oasis reunion is so big in the UK that other bands are distancing themselves from Dynamic Pricing to cop onto the fall out from the Oasis shows going on sale. These are bands that cannot hold a candle to the size of Oasis and one of them is Iron Maiden (one night at London Stadium which is a mega gig for them).
It's still being meme'd to fuck and Liam's performance on Saturday has put people into meltdown.
All the brothers had to do was turn up and these Isles are back in their pockets again.
Linkin Park have been in the news because the new singer is / was a Scientologist and some of the old singers family are miffed about some shit, likely money I suspect.

If I did I would unmeet them very quickly.

Well, I think saying “depends where you are in the world” is accurate about Oasis too. The significance of this reunion, media coverage of it, etc. varies dramatically based on where you live. Where I am, there was almost nobody I knew talking about Oasis. The average person on the street probably is barely aware of what Oasis is, much less that they reunited. Even for music fans, it was just sort of a blip on the radar here - especially since the news cycle moves faster now than ever. Linkin Park is arguably a more popular band than Oasis in every anglophone country sans the UK and Ireland - and globally too. They’re going to have more global cross-generational fandom and more appeal to casual audiences and command more general media coverage. It helps too that Linkin Park are already touring and fans have a lot to talk about. This tour has been mired in controversy, which keeps the band in the headlines too.

That's depressing if true. Why is that depressing? It’s just a fact. Oasis didn’t really see mainstream success internationally outside WTSMG/“Wonderwall”. Their time in the worldwide spotlight was brief, just a couple years. Linkin Park were bigger and for a much longer time, had more hits, sold more records, were more central to general pop culture (collaborations with Jay-Z at the height of his fame or soundtracking one of the biggest movie franchises of the 00s). And Gen Z has embraced them - their streaming numbers are huge for a 25 year old band. I can tell you in America, it’s not even remotely close.

With respect I don’t think are any in recent memory where he could sing with that level of melody and ease. Perhaps the closest I can recall was some of the early gigs when he went solo- and that might be purely because he had given his voice a significant break.

I haven’t heard a better Slide Away in over two decades. Looks two decades younger here too… on top form.

Linkin Park are currently the #34 most played artist on Spotify. And even before the reunion, they were perpetually in the top 100. Whereas Oasis jumped from the 300s to their current peak of #134.
