I didn't think it was great, but it's pretty much how he's sounded for the last few years. He's stopped going for the notes in the chorus of RNRS, and sometimes Supersonic (although he pretty much hit them tonight).
A lot of you are moving the goalposts and making excuses! If that makes you feel better, fair play. But sometimes you have to call a spade a spade.

We are at the stage where everything is overanalyzed by everyone because Oasis is back.
This performance is par the course for his voice on those higher range Oasis tunes since 2021. More eyes on him now since Oasis is back but he has sounded like this live on stage with loud guitars and crowds for a few years.
He sounded really good on Supersonic.

The only thing I would say is, it's probably not that he's not going going for them but that he simply can't make them anymore. In my opinion RNRS has been that way since 2017. As long as he's staying fit and giving it everything, I'll take it. But then my expectations are lower for a rock star past 50.

I think in the reunion thread need to realise how lucky we are.
Liam was no where 10 years ago look and tonight on 52 birthday played probs one of the biggest reaching gigs ever in his career
oasis are on the verge of coming back after selling over 1.5 million tickets basically instantly after doing nothing on the back of the reunion never ever looking like gonna happen.
we gonna have probs 12 months of oasis happenings coming up as they promote a semi world tour and possibly an album
tonight wasnt great but. surely by now thats what it is, we've seen it before and we still here is what it is??

One thing is clear from this performance
And that is Oasis are going to sound so much better than Liam’s backing band.

Edit after hearing the full performance there's a backing vocalist that's bearly listenable, that mixing was bad, and Liam was upset about it at times as well.

Some dangerous gaslighting going on in this thread. “Oh well its better than 2006 so be thankful”. At a time the media have their knives at the ready waiting for the next negative spin on the Oasis reunion, that performance needed to be good.

Any sort of negative news, along with this performance, will be long forgotten by July next year. If we’re at night two of Cardiff and Liam’s voice is already going down hill then you can hit the panic button. For now everyone just needs to chill.

I listened to snippets Liam sounded pretty good and is looking younger and younger every day. Very radical change from a few years ago where they had to hide his shitty vocals. Or its just that songs suits him more i dont know. All in all, if that performance is criticized, it shouldnt. Of course he could shout less, but until Noel is not back, its not gonna happen.

After the comments here I was expecting worse, but it didn't sound too bad. Obviously not at his best compared to his best solo gigs. They need to manage the amount of gigs next year and not to add too many and have breaks within the tour.

Yeah, saw him 2/3 times asking to raise levels to the sound engineer.

Yeah, saw him 2/3 times asking to raise levels to the sound engineer. No in-ear monitors used for Liam last night as far as I could see. Is he reverting back to his old way?

I don't get all the criticism, he sounds pretty much the same as always. It's like all the commenters haven't watched or listened to anything post 02

Definitely noticed a dip last night and the Reading gig compared to before. During his peak solo days voice, last night and Reading isn't the same level of quality.
Compared to say Brit Awards 2018 for example. And the gigs around that time. And even a few years after.
Shame because that was shown around the World last night.
Needs a long break.

He sounds fine. At the start of Supersonic he has sound issues. Then the TV performances almost always sound worst because crowd noise is absent and the settings are not the same as usual.
Go on, fuck social media whiners, etc

This is also par for the course with Liam, he is constantly having sound issues at his gigs. At least Noel will sort that for Oasis
