So The Masterplan has proved that an Oasis re-issue can at the very least challenge for number 1. If Swift had of released her new (old) album a week earlier then TM would most likely be a safe bet for fridays #1. So that begs the question, why not use future re-issue opportunities to try and get some of the non-1s to finally do it?
2025 is the 25th anniversary of SOTSOG, and it would be an easy one to do as they could include the old demoes as a bonus disc.
However, 2025 is also the 25th anniversary of Familiar To Millions…. So hear me out. Re-issue that instead! Include the demos aswell as they are the same era and were played at Wembley. Promote it with bundles featuring all the colours that album was released in, with the new demo deluxe edition in a new colour. Do the zoetrope spinny thing again as that seems to have single handedly got Masterplan up to the top of the chart. Release it on a quiet week and we could see Oasis number 2 again. Its crazy Liam has two solo live #1s and a #4, and Oasis only have a #5 and a #4.
They could potentially do this for Stop The Clocks aswell. Come on Ignition, rather than just squeezing more sales out of the albums that have already sold millions, right some wrongs and improve the ones that didn’t fare so well. Get Oasis into double figures of chart toppers!
(Or release some new stuff)

Familiar to Millions is much harder sell than The Masterplan.

I don't see Oasis touching anything from 2000 onward. They might put out another release of familiar to millions vinyl (which I think they did recently) but that's a hard maybe.
They had ONE twitter post about Heathen Chemistry turning 20 a year ago, and probably the same with Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants.
I hope they do something for Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants in a couple years though... An actual release of all the demos recorded from '98-'99 would be such a sweet gift.

One day they will have to touch on their albums from the noughties, reissues, remasters, bonus tracks..., there is a market for that I guess, after the Supersonic documentary and the Knebworth album it all brought people's interest on the band again, it's great opportunity.

I'd definitely enjoy a Standing on the Shoulder of Giants reissue. Who knows, maybe the fact that this album will be a harder sale than the Masterplan or the mainline 90s albums will make the guys in charge of the reissues do some actual work instead of sitting on their arse and milking stuff beyond relief with no respect to the fans.
Surely SOTSOG can't be a great seller if it isn't a Super Ultra Deluxe with all demos and bonus tracks tucked in, right?

I can see Noel totally doing one for DBTT. It has a GREAT drawing card for bonus material.....The DIV sessions.

Which is why I very much doubt it will happen, sadly.

Yeah that's imo the turning point when it comes to really see what Oasis' current management is worth (not much if I follow my intuition sadly). The easy mode reissues are now done for another 10 years, the next two years will force them to either release some class stuff or just don't do shit.

I don't see Oasis touching anything from 2000 onward. They might put out another release of familiar to millions vinyl (which I think they did recently) but that's a hard maybe. The recent Familiar To Millions release was a red double vinyl bootleg. www.discogs.com/release/23621648-Oasis-Familiar-To-MillionsIt is already selling for £100+ while the original triple vinyl still averages around £500 each time it sells. www.discogs.com/release/1596828-Oasis-Familiar-To-MillionsThere is a market for Oasis vinyl reissues and nostalgia cassettes. Not so much CDs as they’re packaged extremely poorly now and that’s why they end up at a fiver on Amazon after a few weeks. I personally think there have been no reissues after Be Here Now because it is multiple songwriters and not just Noel. So you’d need Liam, Andy and Gem’s permission and cooperation and after Noel saying the 2000 era bside/unreleased album they considered during the pandemic couldn’t be agreed on then there’s not much hope for the others until possibly their 30th anniversaries. We’ll be milked for next years Definitely Maybe 30th and again the following years Morning Glory and throw in a new LG album either with Squire or without.

I can see Noel totally doing one for DBTT. It has a GREAT drawing card for bonus material.....The DIV sessions. DIV should be its own standalone release. Market it right and even the most casual fan who haven’t the foggiest who Death In Vegas were would be intrigued by a lost Oasis album with Liam on vocals.

It wasn’t strong enough to continue with in 2003. I firmly believe Noel a lot of these tunes were turds.

The ideal scenario would be to skip to DBTT in 2025 and include the DIV sessions. The most likely is one of two scenarios(in order of likelyhood)
1- They stop releasing new remasters post 1998 1b- They start over with DM in 2024 adding like fucking printed hand written lyrics 2- They release a remaster of SOTSOG, with or without the leaked songs that we already have

I think option 1. I doubt Noel has much interest in doing big reissues of the post-Chasing the Sun era as it's called now. I mean, if he did any press for them he'd probably just be calling the record(s) shit again, wouldn't he? We've already heard how he doesn't like most of it except DBTT. While that's interesting to die-hards, I doubt it would sell it to casual fans to buy an album again.

I doubt very much we'll get anything from the 2000's era to be honest. Noel's probably not interested in releasing anything.

I completely agree they probably won't release anything else. I think they might start over with DM though, just to milk it bone dry.

The mind blowing surprise being the Liam sung Sad Song that people have known about for 8 years

+/- some Noel acoustic versions of songs done in his bedroom or in a caravan or shed somewhere

It’ll probably be the studio I Am The Walrus which we got earlier this year from gracious collectors and the first cut of the album.
