By the way, if anyone from Japan is visiting the exhibition, please take some detailed pictures of all the guitars - especially the Bigsby Riviera. Cheers!

I got it last month! There are a few pages with detailed pictures of Noel's Wine Red Riviera. By the way, it's a fantastic book if you love patina and well-played guitars.

By the way, an original 1983 Wine Red Riviera has appeared for sale on Reverb: reverb.com/item/85658116-beautiful-matsumoku-epiphone-riviera-1983-wine-red-noel-gallagher-guitarIt's not cheap but it's less money than any modern Gibson. It's 100% original and it's got the Matsumoku pickups - which are very rare because people thought they were shite and got rid of them (guess what, they weren't and they're now quite revered!) Coincidentally, it's just a few serial numbers after mine - which is one of the best guitars I have: it's so lively and resonant - a real joy to play. As good as the best Gibsons on the market for sure. If you're in the US and you're looking for an original Noel Riviera do not hesitate. These things do not come up for sale very often: I had to wait years to get mine!

I bought the reissue a couple of years ago and I love it so it'd be cool to compare the two

I bought it a couple of years ago and I love it so it'd be cool to compare the two The NG signature Riviera is an excellent guitar for the money but the original Matsumoku feels magical. It's more twangy and fuller sounding even when unplugged and the Matsumoku 61 pickups feel more 3D - if that does make any sense. I have an article about this topic (NG signature VS original Matsumoku) in the works but I haven't got time to finish it. It will be!

I remember in 2015 there were two Matsumokus for sale here in Melbourne, in Swop Shop in Carlton. Just didn't have money to burn at the time but they were only AU$800 each. Madness.

Yeah it's a very good watch. The video that he states is from 1993 is actually from August 1994 though. Noel is playing the black LP Custom. Nevertheless, some excellent research work especially of the later Oasis era.

Hi
I saw a video by Noel last year, where he stayed that he did a lot of his writing just before he left his house. Apparently he'd use the 10 to 20 minutes trying out new ideas.
In 1999 I bought a guitar from Noel that has never been mentioned on any Internet page to my knowledge, which I was told he used for this purpose at Supernova Heights.
It's a 1967 Epiphone Caballero. A 3/4 size acoustic that would just suit this kind of use.
Any thoughts?
Rob

After watching that Niklas videos and wondering where some of that old gear is ... seems like Gem's using those Fender amp copies in his recent rig?
