Jesus christ that price is obscene I’d love to know who would pay it. Noel should have it but I doubt he’d spend that much on it.

Jesus christ that price is obscene I’d love to know who would pay it. Noel should have it but I doubt he’d spend that much on it. That's the Supersonic guitar: thechiefsguitars.com/noel-gallagher-main-guitars-1993-2023/epiphone-les-paul-standard/Noel gave it to Digsy in June 1994. Nice to see the serial number revealed! It's a 1992 model. I thought it was a '92 or an early '93 - god only knows how many screencaps I collected from bad rips of the Gleneagles gig to identify distinctive features It is iconic, but is it £80k iconic? Well, someone paid £350k for the repaired ES355 No. 2 that Noel hated and almost never played - this seems a bit of a bargain compared to it, given that it's the guitar of the first Oasis video and recording sessions. That said, I paid about €500 for an identical one from 1993 a couple of years ago They're pretty rare now and they're good guitars - minus the harsh pickups and the shit tuning machines

Quick question carlober - how far removed is the officially released Union Jack Sheraton from Noel's Nashville Sheraton in terms of specs? Obviously the finish is different but I can't really see any differences when it comes to the actual build of the 2 guitars and would love to know for sure how they compare!

Obviously the finish is different but I can't really see any differences when it comes to the actual build of the 2 guitars and would love to know for sure how they compare! The Union Jack Sheraton released in 2014 is probably the closest thing to the Nashville model in terms of specs. It has a Frequensator tailpiece, mini-humbucker pickups (made by Gibson, they’re great), the headstock shape is almost identical and it even has the extra inlays on the fretboard that Noel added on his two Nashville Sheratons (one is the Knebworth guitar, while the other one is of course the Maine Road UJ guitar). Ironically, the 2014 UJ Sheraton was not a Noel Gallagher signature model and Noel wasn’t mentioned in any way! It was marketed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the British Invasion – but it was clearly an attempt at replicating Noel’s UJ guitar The finish was off. The design of the UJ is wrong, the blue is noticeably darker and the sides and the back are plain white. It still looks very good though! I briefly played one in a shop years ago: the pickups were excellent but the build quality of recent Epiphones like the 2023 Frequensator Sheraton is superior. To be fair, I still kick myself for not buying it but I was saving up for an ES-355. Prices for the UJ Sheraton have skyrocketed recently, with most owners trying to sell it for £2k or even £3k. It looks good but it’s very far from being a £2k+ guitar. I do hope that Epiphone decides to reissue it, with the current excellent build quality and maybe with a more accurate finish and a NG signature tag... so all those scalpers can piss off and keep their older inferior model

I own it, and have done for a good few years now, but I'm not very clued up on the finer details so I did wonder how it lined up to the Nashville Sheraton (my eyes obviously didn't deceive me, I always thought they looked very similar)! Maybe one of these days I'll get it refinished, the white back has always been a bugbear of mine. Interesting that the build quality of recent models is superior though! In a way it doesn't surprise me as I know Epiphone's quality has skyrocketed in recent years but still! It's a lovely guitar, the only thing I hate is that I can never get the G string to stay in tune and it's infuriating

The nut might be badly cut - it happens all the time. Sometimes just lubricating the nut slot with some pencil graphite might help. It's a trick that I use at every string change on my Bigsby-equipped guitars and it helps them stay in tune after using the vibrato arm.

A few months ago I sent an email to Epiphone saying how cool it would be if they released a Bonhead tobacco burst Riviera, a UJ Maine Road Sheraton and a sunburst Knebworth Sheraton.
A super nice guy replied that he totally agreed with me, so who knows? I like to dream, and each anniversary would be a great chance for them to sell loads of guitars.

I do think I could do with taking it to another luthier though for another go-over - I know the last guy changed the nut among other things but yeah, I think it probably needs a bit more work

Everything's ready. Just repaint Noel's signature Riviera in Tobacco for Bonehead's, and get the current Sheraton Frequensator as a base for both the Kneboworth and the UJ guitars. It's just a paint job.

Yep, I've already preordered it Her guitar photos are some of the absolute best around. I believe it will feature the Wine Red Riviera, the UJ Sheraton and the Epiphone Frontier acoustic.

The Riviera will be in there! And Jeff Buckley's Telecaster, he's on par with Oasis in terms of how much he means to me so I'm so thankful his guitar is getting featured

An array of guitars will be on show again at TOGETHER WE'LL FLY in London, 18-20th October. Different from the Manchester event, then all 20 or so will be viewable for sale in November.

The Letterman YT channel has just uploaded the performance of Live Forever from March 1995 in excellent quality. It's nice to see the goldtop Gibson Les Paul (link!): Noel used it almost exclusively during the US tour in early 1995 and then in 1996 he gave it to the lead guitarist in the Oasis tribute band No Way Sis.

Yo carlober! Whose is the dark Epiphone Riviera that Gem plays for RnR Star and CS on the DBTT tours. Is it Noel's or his? Haven't seen it recently but it's such a great guitar. I can't figure out how to post screenshots here lol but I'm sure you know which one I mean.

It is either a late '60s Riviera or a Japanese Elitist reissue. It looks suspiciously similar to the one that Noel is holding in this photo by Markus Klinko (is it from 2000? 2001?). I've never seen Noel playing this one, so it might be Gem's but who knows!
