Liam cracking me up. I like the song, but he's not wrong. It's just a bit bland and goes on for too long. Had Noel shaved it maybe to 3 minutes, I think it would have been better received for what it is. Maybe still not good for a lead single though.

These two guys. They talk like this is an important song. When Johnny Marr says:” that bit after this bit it could be emotive if I find the right notes” I don’t imagine he or Noel talked like that when they wrote their massive songs. This sounds forced and uninspired.

You gotta love when some random guy on the internet - judging from a 10-second clip - criticizes the whole songwriting process of two of the most successful British artists of the last four decades, working together in the same room.

Probably the first Noel Gallagher track i have not listened more than 5 times. It's hearbreaking really.
Fully agree with Liam, it's just not good. Noel trying to sound in the now, only to fail.
I wouldnt judge from the clips though, it can be annoying to have a camera pointed at you when you try and write something. Especially those two, who work alone and like to work alone. Hell, it's probably staged and the thing was recorded already.

Has anyone worked out the chords yet: Asus4(x02200) (030000*) (200000) a slide into(100000) (*it could be 032000)

It is worst single ever released by Oasis, BDI, NGHFB or LG, no doubt about it.

Thanks.
I found this video on You Tube 'shorts' (or something like that) and there weren't any comments. Weirdly when I pasted the URL in the post above it turned into a link to a full You Tube page with comments including the chords and tuning!
Glad he's still using the B tuned to A 'The Soundtrack Of Our Lives' tuning - love that on Shock of the Lightning, Lyla, Mucky Fingers, Turn Up The Sun, Stop The Clocks and Record Machine. Also A Simple Game Of Genius I think from memory - haven't played that for a while.

It gives a slightly melancholic feeling, it's cool.

Liam's right, it's dog shit. Worst single Noel has ever released. Wasn't fussed when it came out, but now I'd put it at 'decent' range. I think it's better than most of his first and second albums.

I don't listen to it much but when I do I enjoy it still, I'd say it feels a bit like ITHOTM for me I hope I find stuff I like more on the album, but I can't see myself skipping it and I like it as a starting point for this cycle

I stick to my original opinión: for me it's a bit like WTSRTS in the sense that it's not catchy enough to be single material, but it's one of tbose songs I will keep listening to for years

This man wrote Champagne Supernova, Live Forever and The Masterplan. It's not even close to the quality of those songs. A bit unfair maybe, but I expect so much more from Noel Gallagher. This follows the road he's been on since WBTM. Not into it at all. He’s in his mid 50’s Paul McCartney wrote some of the most famous songs in history but pretty much blew his entire load by the time he was about 40, just like Noel and most other writers It’s just the way it is. There could be a handful of exceptions, but if we’re talking about the history of popular music, most people’s creative peak has long gone before their 50’s. I think anyone thinking Noel is going to start knocking out classics that resonate with the public is going to be disappointed. It’s not gonna happen. The man’s peak was almost 30 years ago. I’m sure his albums going forward will have decent moments but that’s about it. Probably mostly mediocre music that nobody would pay attention to if it was under someone else’s name.

It'd decent but i've just listened to a HFB bonus tracks playlist on Youtube and yet again (as was the case in Oasis0 he has spunked away so many stronger tracks than this.

I was skeptical at first, but it really grew on me. Ended up being one of my favorite songs of 2022.
