Both versions sold out. I’ll probably regret not pulling the trigger on the epiphone. It doesn’t say limited run and the epiphone announcement says Noel is now back in the signature core line again. That makes me think it’ll be back.

Fuck this is so hard I’ve wanted his signature guitar for like 2 decades now. Passed on the Union Jack in 1999. Big mistake. I rarely play anymore especially with a 1.5 year old at home. A purchase like this makes zero sense for me but I still WANT IT.

That makes me think it’ll be back. I believe that only the Gibson 355 is sold out (200 pieces worldwide). They'll make thousands of Epiphone Rivieras, without any doubt. I think there will be many more available once they come from the factory (which is in China)  On the Epiphone website it's not even listed as a limited edition. |

I would have to wait until we move in the next year or so. It is tempting though. If my wife would let put it up on a wall...that's not happening. |

I received the Epiphone today. Absolutely beautiful and impressive, wonderful sound. The perfect companion for my Noel´s Gibson signature j-150 from last year. I feel very lucky for having both!

The retail price in the EU for the Epiphone seems to be 899€. Ouch!
That's a lot of money for a new Epiphone. It's at least 300€ more than non-signature Epi semi-hollows (and more expensive than other sleeker signature guitars like the BB King Lucille).
I mean... I get the appeal (I'm thinking about getting one myself), but if you take away the NG association it's a standard, made in China Epiphone with stock pickups.
They're milking the Oasis fanbase with this one.

I bought the J-150 last summer. This summer there is a new Gibson ES that's $10K and out of my reach, but there is also a new Epiphone Riviera that is only $900 so I went with that one. Anyone else into these?

Ordered my Epiphone this morning. Yes, acquired the needed blessing from the wife. The guitar is on back order, but I hear it should be coming later in the year. Love the fact they made a lefty model. Reviews I’ve seen have been outstanding, so looking forward to when it arrives. Damn, this post got long. Sorry.

The "union jack" Sheraton they released a few years back is much more accurate to his actual guitar. ( www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ETUJAWGH3--epiphone-ltd-ed-union-jack-sheraton-outfit ) This new Riviera is dead-on accurate reproduction to the guitar he used in the 90s up until about 1995 and appeared on the DLBIA video. |
