As the title says. I swear, I end up listening to the shows from this tour more than any other . Renewed energy with new members, a really great setlist (for a 75 minute shared bill, anyways) and what sounds like lots of enthusiasm. Maybe the competitive spirit of a joint tour spurred them on as well? There is also a "no pressure" feeling as well that contributes because they were basically done with the "active" portion of the SOTSOG tour and this is more like a warmup set of shows before Heathen Chemistry in my head. Just love this tour to bits. Any takers?

Was my first time seeing Oasis. Flew from Texas to watch the gigs at Radio City in NYC and it literally changed the course of my life. Incredible shows!

Steve White was brilliant on this tour. Liam looked and sounded great mostly, the last time he looked vaguely recognizable as the lad in the 95' Earls Court video.
Fade Away was a real highlight with Noel's backing vocals being absolutely on point. I love how he belts the "dream it while you can" bit.
The spray can-esque drums (? whatever its called) coming back into the outro of Gas Panic was a great touch too, I always wished that was on the studio version.
Those Wonderwall intros were memorable.
Generally not the best versions of Slide Away though, didn't go for the high notes at all in the chorus so it makes even the 2009 stuff more dynamic and interesting for me.

I have some of those concerts from that tour either on cd or on sd cards which I downloaded. It was a good tour yes, but it's not my favourite.

The tour with the best drummer ever to play in Oasis. Great shows.

Agreed with this. One gig I always wished would be released officially would be the first night in Las Vegas. Listening to the reports of the setlist coming in at the time was amazing, especially that 4-hit combo of Columbia, Morning Glory, Fade Away and Some Might Say, neither of which had been played in years.

Funny you mention Slide Away - was listening to a 2001 version this morning (what prompted me to make this thread!) and Noel just sounded SO into it. Was great to hear! Love Fade Away and Step Out. Step Out is my favorite Noel-sung song and what a shame it was canned from Morning Glory....

Crazy that in just a couple weeks this show will have been 21 years ago.

Saw this the other day - Headshrinker was being rehearsed! Obviously Liam couldn't do it justice, and Fade Away's easier to sing.

I have enjoyed the shows I have heard from this run. Anyone got a particular favourite to recommend?

Perhaps we could create a 20th anniversary live album (technically 21st anniversary I know) together with some interviews from the time. I think there are a couple of Noel interviews The black crowes have done interviews about it. oasispodcast needs to do a show about the tour!

Agreed, not seen it live but from the videos, energy, rawness... Oasis post BHN at their best. Steve White changed the sound clearly, but then he went nuts and dissed Oasis when the baby brother got sacked, bit sad.

He chose family over people who's real only connection was the brother who got fired. That's pretty understandable.

He wanted out, or at least that’s the posture he gave.

Yeah I know but Alan didn’t seem to be interested to tour during the HC gigs. He wanted out, or at least that’s the posture he gave. I think he was tired of playing over drum machines… but unless everything we’ve ever heard from all sides is wrong, Alan got sacked, he didn’t want out. There was talk at the time that he didn’t turn up to some meeting which irritated Noel, him being with Liam in Munich probably didn’t help. And Noel was clearly restless at the time, DBTT is a very different album than everything which had come before; hard to tell though whether the change of drummer lead to or was a consequence of that.
