If he drops unreleased demos every year there’s a good chance we might finally get the Amorphous Androgynous album by 2050. X Do you think we’ll finally get the new AA album this year mossy? I hope so but they’ve been quiet about it recently and given the massive lead time on vinyl production right now it’s not looking great is it? The Mantra long form single was meant to be out next before the album too.

The Mantra long form single was meant to be out next before the album too. It is the perfect method for Noel to drop the AA album. He is too chicken shit to do it the normal route because of potential poor sales, shit reviews and reputation. The beauty of Record Store Day is that it is low stakes, no pressure, reviews don't matter, sales don't matter because of low low inventory and no streaming. The majority of artists participating drop out of print albums/songles or weird projects. This would work wonderful for Noel and fans. However, the AA album has become the new Be Here Now mystique tapes. There is money to be made here and Noel does love the almighty dollar.

I’ve been looking forward to Mantra getting released - that’s my favorite of the in-progress tracks we’ve heard of theirs I have high hopes for this Chakra album. Genuinely think it could be their best. Mantra and She Listens To The Sun both sounded great, as did many of the demo clips we’ve heard so far. I find Gaz’s vocals and lyrics are often the weakest part of their songs, so the various guest vocalists could really elevate this album. The guest list is pretty phenomenal: Noelly Poly, Weller, Craddock (OCS), Nick McCabe (Verve), Rowetta (Happy Mondays), Peter Hammill (Van Der Graaf Generator), Brian Hopper (Soft Machine), Stephen Chadwick (the Liam soundalike…)

Best of both worlds: Stick the odd individual track on these annual Magic Secret single releases. Then reissue HFB with the AA album as a bonus disc for the 15th anniversary. We’re all here ripe for the milking Noel.

I always liked the AA version of Falling Down but that’s about it.

They’re folk singers, not opera singers lol: Alisha Sufit & Linda Lewis. It would be easy for Noel to edit them out if he could be bothered to finish mixing it. Listen to Gaz’s descriptions of the AA versions of If I Had A Gun and tell me you don’t want to hear these, even with his hyperbole, after living with the stodgy Sardy version for a decade now… 1. Solo / Acoustic VersionThey used vocals from Noel’s original demo as they had the most feeling. Features Gary Lucas on guitar. Cello. Grand finale: builds up with Hey Jude style drums to end with a church choir. (Fuck me if this doesn’t sound like the version we all wanted after hearing the soundcheck all those moons ago!!) 2. Band VersionT-Rex style drums (replacing Noel’s plodding drums). Strangeboy on guitar, sounding like My Sweet Lord. Linda Lewis backing vocals. It’s this version which was remixed into Shoot A Hole. Veering almost back on topic, this would make a great “magic secret” RSD release one day …

Demos and rarities without the whole album reissue nonsense is a pretty good deal to be getting every year going forward. I’d be shocked if he offered a lot of Oasis rarities from RSD because of the huge interest from the fan base. Lots of money to be made. There’s limited and there’s “limited”! The Oasis magic secret releases could well get larger print runs. I imagine he’ll drip feed out the Oasis demos he prepared for that latter days best of that Liam vetoed and they’ll all have Noel on vocals.

That was the biggest problem/crime with Oasis post 1998. Noel singing 90% of b-sides and outtakes.

Listen to Gaz’s descriptions of the AA versions of If I Had A Gun and tell me you don’t want to hear these, even with his hyperbole, after living with the stodgy Sardy version for a decade now… Oh yeah I love the AA stuff when it doesn't have the other singers on it - they just grate on my ears. It's like listening to Dylan duet with Joan Baez - they don't match or even complement each other. It's not just the voices of the AA singers not matching Noel's voice - their vocals and their singing styles don't even match the experimental nature of the trippy music being played.

I don't see any other reference to it being a remix than what Wikipedia says, but even the credits mention AA as producers and Strangeboy mixing it. I do believe this is the actual band version with the AA? Which would make it the full-on only normal Noel/AA track we have?

Gaz has said this multiple times, including in the FB post the above info came from. It’s definitely a third version in addition to the two above and they only made it because Noel was comparing the album to Dark Side in interviews. The basis for the remix is a loop from the chorus of the band version.

Song is boring. I much prefer the AA remix and have probably listened to that version 20 times the proper album take. Wish we had the whole AA album. I’m so curious.

Any websites selling again this year? I think I might need this option. Called my 3 local record shops. First store has 2 copies. The other 5. The one store refuses to tell me. Working till 3 pm but doors open at all 3 at 9 am. I’m probably in trouble.
