Hi everyone, Is it possible to put MP3 (or any audio file) on bd-r (blu ray disc) and play it like an audio cd?

Do you mean putting the MP3 files directly onto the blank BR disc and inserting that into a BR player?
Yes most blu-ray players will play the MP3 files straight off a blank BR disc this way. I've converted my entire Oasis collection to MP3 and burnt it to a BR disc. Just place it in the BR player and it plays through my surround sound system hooked up to the TV. It even displays the MP3 album art on the TV screen if I want to leave the TV screen on.
No need to change discs every hour or so and I can organise it into subfolders to play in any order I want. As a bonus it also means I have a disc backup of the Oasis MP3 collection I initially organise on a hard drive.
Depends on your player but I think mine will also play flacs and wavs if you want it in higher quality.

Thanks for the info. This is a great help.
Please can you recommend a software to do this? Obviously, I have a blu ray writer. Can I do this through iTunes?

Your blu-ray writer should have come with some free burning software? Any free software that will simply burn files to a blank BR disc will do (Nero for example). Not sure if iTunes supports BR burning.
It's a simple process because the burning software is not "converting" any of the files as it transfers them to the disc - it's just placing a bunch of your selected MP3 files onto the disc unaltered.

I've had the blu ray writer a long time and can't remember if I got some software with it. I used to use Nero on pc, but I'm using a Mac now and haven't used it on a my Mac before.
I'll see what free blu ray software is available and give this a go.
Again, thanks for your help.
