The original guitar solo just wouldn't work in this version. That balls out, Slash style kiss the sky solo can only be used in arrangement for a rock anthem.
The restraint shown in this one fits the songs vibe and subtlety of this one perfectly. A bit like how George Martin preferred the more limited guitar solo on Let It Be for the eventual single release (as opposed to the album version).

I never thought I'd hear Live Forever as a dream pop ballad. Incredible.

Is it same chords but tuned down a step? Noel usually uses a capo on 4th fret and uses a chord transpotion. Which would be something like this: Verse: D A Em G A Chorus: Bm A Em G A (and a C after the Em for the 'you and I are gonna live forever' bit) Not sure if his using those exact chords thought... Been trying them the same as SCYHO... Sounds okay, but not quite certain if it's what's his doing there

I dont mind melancholy, i come from an area where melancholy is a way of life. Brazil? I actually laughed out loud thinking this was about our current political/economic chaos...

By ear only, same chords half down. The structure couldn't be change that much anyway or the melody would sound vastly different Yeah think you're right. Half a step, and potentially not playing the full chords, doing his usual acoustic session thing of playing the third fret on the B and high E string throughout. Whatever it is, it's a beaut. He changed it up just a bit Capo 4th. All chords relative to capo
D, A, Em, G, A x2 (same progression as the original) Bm, A, Em, G, A (same) Bm, A, E7/G# (4x040x), G (instead of going Bm, A, Em, C)
In the last part, also instead of just Em, C (Am, F in the original) he does G, A, Bm

I might be wrong but I think the chords are: capo on 6th verse - C, C/B, Dmin7, F, G chorus - amin7, am7/G, Dmin7, F, G,....Amin7, am7/G, D7/F#, F
Hoping someone does a cover soon coz i havent seen one

That version of Live Forever was amazing , great performance of Flying On The Ground and the Dylan cover as well, good times for Noel.

Play something like x 13 13 11 4 4 for the Bm and we’re nearly there, I think. Wee bits like the Asus4 in the first progression, Asus2 in second and G without the pinky and if you play about enough, it’ll be nearly perfect
