Live Forever, new version, meh. That solo was one of the best in history, some stuff dont need to change.
No need to become James Blunty.

it is the first time since 2009 Technically it was last played in Glasgow in 2016.The night Prince died and the opening night of the NGHFB tour. The crowd sang 90% of it though.

Funny how Noel is watching the same shows on Netflix than me. I didn't think we would have similar taste, but I guess we both like entertaining documentaries.

He recorded this in his studio. He needs to get this up on Apple Music ASAP.

You know one of the things Noel has always said that's pissed me off is he can't do Live Forever because Liam does it better. For a start you wouldn't sing any songs if that was the logic, but more bemusing to me is he does such a beautiful and unique version of Live Forever that offers so much more to the song. The version on Supersonic is one of my most played versions of an Oasis song and this has just topped it. It annoys the hell out of me that he'll do those shit versions of Chanpagne Suoernova and Go Let It Out and dismiss Live Forever for so long for the reason he gave. Honestly love his version of Go Let It Out and CS. It's not better, it's just different, and suits his voice.

I found this, soundboard audio..? tbf he did say sing it strumming the chords for a mass singalong from the crowd - he's done that a few times in his solo career

I literally thought the same when I just listened to this. Just 'holy shit...'. That's the most beautiful version I've heard outside of the Definitely Maybe original. Really emotional listening to that, I'm absolutely floored. I pray to god he releases this in some form. It's perfect. His approach to performing is becoming ever more delicate and sophisticated, so much of a relief compared to the lumbering plodding horror shows under Dave Sardy. David Holmes has had a massive effect on Noel. As big an influence as he's ever had and he seems to have unlocked a new layer or 5 or creativity. It's so refreshing. Would love to hear him tackle Slide Away with the new band. tbf his version of Slide Away in 2015 (with the added refrain in or whatever it is which is in the original DM mix but burried really deep) is great. Plus the TCT from 2010 or whenever it is - that version of Don't Go Away always blows me away. Do Going Nowhere, Noel, you tit

FInally Noel gets the correct sound! This half tone down arrangement...with the new chords and the voices ...that is how it all sounds now. The point that cosmic pop never gets. But the solo...mmm....the Live Forever sólo it's part of the music history...it's canon. Should be something especial...should be a reminiscence of it on this version. Just that. The rest is great! Hope to hear more classics with this...thiiisssss....sound.

I really don't like that version of Live Forever. I'm all for him doing different versions but like with his Champagne Supernova it just makes me cringe. Both solos are ruined for a start.

Solo definitely sounds Coldplay like

I do rate Noel's band quite a bit at this point. Come a long way from the debut days.

Noel's band is very solid indeed - can't see how it could be much better to be honest.
Not a fan of the new Live Forever - too maudlin and bland for me. The solo just sounds like Coldplay.

I do rate Noel's band quite a bit at this point. Come a long way from the debut days. I think it's come to the point where he trusts them as creative people and now that they've expanded you get musicians with many different background blending together and it adds to the experience It's obviously still Noel coordinating the whole thing, but it sounds more like a proper collective now

As mentioned above Some Might Say could be interesting in this style.

That version is not my cup of tea. It's too soft, Live forever is a an optimistic song, not a melancholic one. He added the "We're on the Way Now" filter that i don't like on some of his new tunes.
I like the way he changed DLBIA because the song was always kinda soft. Live Forever needs to be a bit raw, a bit upbeat, not obscure, not snowflaky.

See, I think if one song's melancholic that's Live Forever It was always in there, even if the words are quite clearly optimistic And I believe it made complete sense for him to give it a new interpretation now 30 years after writing it, he explained it pretty well

I’m just gonna assume that Dylan song will be on Noel’s covers album for a future RSD release.

Punk or disco would have been more surprising. This version is Noel doing Noel’s ballads 2019/2020. Next ! Flying on the ground on the other hand… sexaayy

I'd love to see the full band cracking on Don't Go away and Slide Away. But this Live Forever version really took me by surprise. The atmosphere sounds amazing and the choir girls gave a new depth to it. Maybe we all prefer the original solo, but it still is a magical version.

I think it's a great version. A great example of how the same melody and lyrics can be used to transmit almost opposite sentiments.

She has a fantastically resonant radio voice, but rarely find her a great interviewer. She's very warm and enthusiastic but never gets anywhere (although can see how that works for a run or a fantasy ... and for the BBC.) She's a bit of a bland interviewer, but I'd do a sofa session with her any time she likes. Point taken, hahaha, and good luck with that.
