Quite surprised how entertaining that was, good amount of time chatting as well as the music.

Does anyone know if this will be audio only or if there will be a video available?

That story about him having never sang Live Forever since the day he first sang it to the band was some bullshit

Dylan cover was cool. (It was on an album, though, Bob Dylan's Greatest Hits II, and also was recorded by The Byrds.)

Ok, this version of Live Forever made me very emotional. It sounds... different, but in a good way.

That version of Live Forever... HOLY SHIT! That's fucking perfect. He's totally made that version his own. I hope he does this live on the next .

Still fancy Jo Whiley. I've got her voice doing the talking on my 5K running app. Perfect motivation. She has a fantastically resonant radio voice, but rarely find her a great interviewer. She's very warm and enthusiastic but never gets anywhere (although can see how that works for a run or a fantasy ... and for the BBC.)

I literally thought the same when I just listened to this. Just 'holy shit...'. That's the most beautiful version I've heard outside of the Definitely Maybe original. Really emotional listening to that, I'm absolutely floored. I pray to god he releases this in some form. It's perfect. His approach to performing is becoming ever more delicate and sophisticated, so much of a relief compared to the lumbering plodding horror shows under Dave Sardy.

David Holmes has had a massive effect on Noel. As big an influence as he's ever had and he seems to have unlocked a new layer or 5 or creativity. It's so refreshing. Would love to hear him tackle Slide Away with the new band.

It's understated, yet layered. What a great arrangement. Brilliant!

What a version that is , Noel at his best that . Funny thing is you know if someone like Ed Sheeran was churning out the stuff Noel does , he’d be 3 times bigger than what he is now , Noel is the best songwriter by far of the last 30 years . He’s just sheer class

Those last view “gonna live forever”s.
Fucking hell. It’s like hearing the song again for the first time.

That story about him having never sang Live Forever since the day he first sang it to the band was some bullshit He's done it so many times man Like, I actually don't think he even realises he's lying, he just has the memory of a plantpot (and that's being harsh on plantpots)

Yeah, beautiful cover This is what Noel does best, can use his musicianship (and now the band's) to turn these songs into something new/fresh/different, and they still give you that same feeling. I'm glad he does it his own way, because he can't match Liam in that sense so why try?

I don't think anyone else can capture melancholia quite like he does
Truly beautiful version of Live Forever, and Flying On The Ground sounded great too

You know one of the things Noel has always said that's pissed me off is he can't do Live Forever because Liam does it better. For a start you wouldn't sing any songs if that was the logic, but more bemusing to me is he does such a beautiful and unique version of Live Forever that offers so much more to the song.
The version on Supersonic is one of my most played versions of an Oasis song and this has just topped it.
It annoys the hell out of me that he'll do those shit versions of Chanpagne Suoernova and Go Let It Out and dismiss Live Forever for so long for the reason he gave.

I've always loved Dylan and the Byrds versions of You Ain't Going Nowhere. I've never heard the lyrics Noel is singing.

Saying it again, Flying On The Ground is a classic, or needs to become one. Beautiful

Nice to see that flying on the ground is still the best song ever. Jokes aside (yeah sure I was joking) it's so underrated, one of his best song.
Great session btw, I'd love an entire album with this sound. Live forever sounds different but it's great, so melancholic. The arrangement is so good, the key change (one half step down) makes sense and the few chords adjustments gave us a new live forever.

I've always loved Dylan and the Byrds versions of You Ain't Going Nowhere. I've never heard the lyrics Noel is singing. Noel is singing the lyrics from the version found on Bob Dylan Greatest Hits Vol 2 from 1971. That and a few other songs were specially recorded by Dylan for that Greatest Hits album. The Dylan version you're familiar with is probably from the Basement Tapes, recorded in 1967 and finally released in 1975.

Noel has got to release a Bacharach inspired / sounding record. It's just meant to be.
