I think that Where Did It All Go Wrong? is a much better song than Sunday Morning Call and I've always loved Where Did It All Go Wrong? it's a tune. It's a bit Dadrock on the album (still great though). I love the Jools Holland version. Dadrock? No, I've never thought of it like that, the semi acoustic versions are better than the album version even though I love the album version.

Totally forgot Sunday Morning Call was a hidden track on Time Flies lol. If you go onto the wikipedia page for hidden (or maybe bonus) tracks, I edited it to include SMC on Time Flies a while back. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hidden_track#Reasoning

It's a shame he didn't really explain why he hates Sunday Morning Call. I thought "Oh he's finally going to explain it" but no... it was a non-answer...

And you're both wrong More seriously, with a better production, it had some potential (as shown by the very nice MTV acoustic version). It's still far from being the worst Oasis song or even the worst song on the album though. I think he hates because he knows it had potential It's just very miserable and it doesn't go anywhere.

I think he hates because he knows it had potential It's just very miserable and it doesn't go anywhere. Oasis releasing SMC as a single is just depressing. If I was a fan in 2000, it would've been a massive disappointment. Whatever people think of Shakermaker and Roll With It, but really SMC is the first legit shit song they released as a single.

I don't mind Sunday Morning Call but it's certainly not one of Oasis's best and it should never have been released as a single. They should have released Where Did It All Go Wrong? instead.

SMC always remembers me the songs of groups like Embrace: strictly speaking, the melody is pleasant enough (it's not a shit song like e.g. Probably All in the mind) but somehow the actual song is incredibly boring. A mix of blandness in the composition, pedestrian production and lack of versatility in his voice, I guess (he is a much better singer now). It happened quite frequently to him in the 00's: good melodies totally spoiled. Another example would be Who Put the Weight...

Pretty much sums it up perfectly Not a bad song, well crafted enough but pretty much a hollow experience.

in context it is easy to see why noel made smc a single. it sounds like the sort of ballad you would have heard on the radio in 2000
