'Oasis and Primal Scream mainstream in the 90s'
Maybe in the UK. Where I live (belgium), Oasis was an alternative act, played on one rock radio station. Maybe Wonderwall & DLBIA crossed over to the other stations. Apart from those, Oasis was a big act in the alternative scene in the 90s.
Commercial radio stations were all about take that, backstreet boys, westlife, boyzone etc etc.

Commercial radio stations were all about take that, backstreet boys, westlife, boyzone etc etc. He obviously is talking about the U.K. where guitar bands very much were the mainstream. Boy Bands we’re mainstream too but the charts were full of guitar bands in the 90s.
