Maybe that was the problem. They need to work together with the Oasis stuff, but I guess they are too stubborn. Liam isnt exactly know to be the hard worker type. I mean he didnt even bother to show up to rehearsals, so taking part in a best of release... shhhss too much work.

There's clearly a lot of unreleased stuff from that period, much more than a disk's worth. So I can see on a single disk why Liam might feel Noel was over-represented but can also see why Noel would have it that way.
They just need to do a proper anthology.

Really enjoyed this interview! Lot's of good bits in there and even giving Liam a few props.
Looking forward to some future releases... still loads of gems floating around in the basement. Unreleased stuff, live gigs etc.

I can imagine why Liam wouldn't like the tracklist. I mean, look what Noel did with the Chasing the Sun reissues. I understand that there is probably more stuff in the vault with Noel on vocals, but having live versions Sad Song, Spaceman & Take Me Away on the reissue of DM for example, is just strange.
I still hope it gets a release some day

I don’t care if it’s Noel, Liam, or Andy Bell singing them. If it’s unreleased shit I want it. That’s not a problem, he can release them under NGHFB moniker like some other songs he wrote during the oasis days. I wond€r why h€ didn’t want it thi$ way 😉

The way Noel talked about it made it sound like the rarities album was going to be mostly B-sides with a couple of unreleased tracks.

Noel in the latest interviews is seeming abit like the old Noel , he seems tired with the crap and wants the legacy to live on in a positive light I think , he seems in a good place . The bit about the brothers seemed to show some light ... There be absolute stacks of stuff in the vaults , one thing he needs to do is be here now stripped ! Good interview

Some very good nuggets out of this interview. Love when Matt chats with Noel. He always opens him up because he's a genuine fan. The type of kid standing in those fields watching Oasis in the summer of 1996.
- The Springsteen story was very good
- Turns out the best of 2000s was actually just gonna be the B-sides and outtakes. That'll do me. Hope the outtakes happen next year.
- Live gigs for Knebworth coming Noel said. Love that Matt pressed him on what a force Oasis were live in the early days and its never been shown off on albums. FTM is weak offering in my eyes. Shitty vibe at those gigs and wasn't the prime era lineup. Cant' wait for properly mastered album of those shows. Christmas time?
- Dying to hear "It's All Too Much" come out, all 12 minutes!!!!!!!
- Excited that Noel and Holmes are going to revisit a song not completed for MOON called "Nervous Acid" this summer. Apparently it was Holmes fav from the sessions.
- Really bummed Noel abandoned the proper recording of "Dead In The Water" for this compilation. Sounds like he was gonna make it really big with strings. I still think that song deserves a proper recording. Plus that would have been a nice perk of the Best Of to have "Dead In The Water" studio version. Oh well.

But I can’t agree that it was a shitty vibe at the Wembley 2000 gigs - brilliant in the crowd!

Noel had walked out on them the previous month declaring no more touring outside the UK, SOTSOG sales were free falling and rumors of the band breaking up swirled all summer long. That is what I mean. It didn't feel like a celebration like 1995-1996 did.

Great interview but I think Noel has turned into quite a name dropper, always makes sure everyone knows he is hanging out with elite celebs Always has been. Think his brother mentioned that as far back as the 90s and I read an interview with his former PA recently and she said that Liam was always the kind of guy you could meet up with over a pint and chat about everyday stuff whereas Noel always liked to hang out with celebs and 'cool' people. I for one can't remember the last time I saw pics of Noel and Sara in the press on a night out or on holiday and DIDN'T know who the other people they were out with were.

Noel likes to tell a story and the press likes to let him tell it, the names you mention definitely add to the story and make it more interesting for people (with that said I think everyone as a music fan would shit himself if he had lunch with Springsteen, he's one of *those* names)
Never got the obsession with the "oh he's name dropping" tho, seems like a cultural thing to me

You mean a guy you didn’t even really meet or know until your late 20s, early 30s?
