I think that Noel looked ok and quite relaxed during the interview. Anyway, I think that he's got a point about where are the new Oasis. Mind you, that said I don't think that there will ever be a band like Oasis again. Where's the new guitar bands? He said in a recent interview that the whole early 00's was the last wave of guitar music and he's completely correct. I wonder if it's because of my age (36) but I can't see anything out there. It's sad if it's true. Hey Hey My My!!! Whole music biz changed massively. Lotsa guitar bands out there struggling but it isn’t where the culture is right now. Think Noel missed the boat intimating that the problem is that this generation doesn’t want to work hard. They’d work hard if they thought it could pay off, the way it did for him. But the chances of that now are so much closer to nil.

There are some good new guitar bands, but you have to go looking for them. The guitar bands that I've heard being played on the radio aren't interesting (like The Sherlocks, Trampolene, etc.)
Also you need a good frontman/frontwoman.

But if you have to go looking for them, they’re hardly Oasis, though, are they?
Noel was asking “where is the new Oasis?” And the unfortunate answer is there can’t be another Oasis right now—at least n terms of impact or wealth-generating sales (which don’t happen overnight anymore as they could if you were both talented and lucky in the early 90s). It just isn’t how the business is structured these days. Rock music is niche now except for a handful or so of classic acts (Liam and Noel among them). Maybe a bit less so in UK, but it’s even harder now to get heard elsewhere even if you do make a name in the UK.
That’s not to say there aren’t hungry young bands making great music, some of whom even get fronted enough money to tour and to keep making albums. There are. But to be Oasis-sized stars? Packaged is the name of the game now if you aim for that, and even among those, there are far fewer acts making the big bucks.

Just watched it.
Thought he came across quite well in the chat bit tbh!
But, yeah shame about his "performance".

I assume you have insider info but bad form on the part of the JR Show if that is true. I can say in the US that it’s almost impossible that a guest wouldn’t be told well in advance of such conditions. All of the Covid-related restrictions are carefully laid out in written form for all film and television production and ample notice is given when they change. But maybe there is more confusion in England. Live television audiences will return to late night talk shows in the U.S. next week, but crew, guests and audiences must be fully vaccinated.

Agree it's odd they found out when they turned up. They had to rehearse to mime as a result to make it accurate. The song sounds good live from the Sky Arts show.

Such a shame, I guess being the first week with the audience back they weren't sure on how to handle it until it got very close, but still a bit unprofessional and I'm sure disappointing for the band and crew who turned up

I thought he was fine in the interview, only thing throwing him off a bit was Jonathan spending so much time asking about Liam But yeah I guess the whole thing would be a bit off putting for artists, although I imagine they're ready for the worst in these Covid times

I think he seems to be in great spirits these days.

That explains it then as I thought it was strange why Noel didn't play live because I know it's unlike him to. It's a shame though and I guess that all of the music guests in the studio on the JR show will perhaps have to mime if there's a live audience.
