Here’s the official thread for this utter atrocity.
I hope we (Arsenal) get relegated from the European Super League. Money grabbing, soulless, thoughtless proposal.
If you’re going to do a breakaway league, at least make it compelling and interesting. Such bland, beige nonsense. I hope it doesn’t come to fruition - the universal backlash and condemnation is promising.

You hope Arsenal get relegated from it? That’s the whole point- they can’t be.

You hope Arsenal get relegated from it? That’s the whole point- they can’t be. not until they expand it from a 'European' to a global leauge, make it two tier to accommodate extra teams then the top tier decides to break away to keep all the money to themselves. It's the logical endpoint of finance over football.

They made their own money-league and then they want to partecipate to domestic leagues against the clubs that "are not good enough"? Pathetic.

What's happening to football is the same as what's happening to the rest of society, and it's happening for the same reasons. Whether it's a state government or a board of CEO's, ordinary people are excluded from the decision-making processes that dominate their lives, workplaces, and communities. Maybe the Super League will be stopped. But they've already pushed through Champion's League reforms along the same lines - "elite" clubs with inherent advantages, everyone else in the mud. If you stop the Super League now, it'll be back in some form or another in the coming years, and you won't be able to stop it forever. Not unless we have fan ownership.
It's the only way to stop these things in the long-term. Taking football power away from billionaires and giving it back to the everyday, local fans who built it in the first place. Germany's 50+1 system would be a good start. Giving fan organisations the power to hire and fire members of the board, input in the key decisions, elections on issues and presidents. The Super League is when the CEO's of football played their hand too quick - they've been building up this Americanisation of football for decades, but now they've pulled the trigger. Unless we use the reaction to this to build fan ownership of the clubs, I guarantee you that it's only a matter of time before some form of Super League is introduced and football becomes an endless carousel of glitzy, glorified friendlies played for Chinese streaming services, designed to fill the pockets of untouchable clubs and billionaires.

I just came on to rant about this exact thing, it's a fuckin mess, money dominating everything, but I don't think their mistake is playing their hand too early, it's thinking they have a hand to play, nobody wants this shite, not players, not managers, not coaches, not the kit man, not the fuckin tea lady, and definitely not the fans, time for all those who give a shit about the game to stand up and be counted, time for those who don't to fuck off and find something else to fuck over, it's time to take our fuckin ball back

You hope Arsenal get relegated from it? That’s the whole point- they can’t be. I know. I was being flippant. I don’t want Arsenal anywhere near this, and the fact that they are included despite being abysmal since at least 2016 is appalling and is an embarrassment to the club.

It’s over. City and Chelsea kill it. Woodward gone from United. I thought they knew what they were doing but no, after just two days it seems like it’s over already and UEFA comes out even stronger. What an epic failure. I love it

Well that was short lived.
Was this a ploy or publicity stunt.... or are there really morons who thought this would actually be embraced?

Been spending some time reading up on what some of the things thon Perez at Real Madrid has been saying, this has to be my favourite:
What the fuck is this silly auld kunt on about? Aye, lets just make the games 5 minutes each way and have 80 minutes of adverts eh? Fucking hell, get these people away to fuck from football man!!!
Aye that is because kunts like you have created a generation of managers that think passing the ba sideways for 90 minutes is entertaining. Fuck off!

On the now defunct idea of the European Super Leauge, Josh Kroenke justified Arsenal’s involvement, “I think the global fan wants Arsenal against Barcelona as much as possible.”
Mate, the last time we faced a team like Barcelona over two legs we lost 10-2 on aggregate (Bayern Munich, 2017). Josh may want to reconsider such a half-baked explanation.
