Hi all..

Here we go (again):
Honestly I never thought of renewing this thread again. But after almost four years, I'm up to do it (definitely, maybe) one last time: The Ultimate Live4ever Top 100, Edition 2021. Containing all official Liam & Noel releases of the past 30 years.

I've been making these lists (although not just for Live4ever; also oasisforum and the soapbox in the past) for a couple of years now: 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017. So this will be the 9th edition.

What to do?:
So here goes.......as usual, you can choose (a maximum of) 25 songs from all official Oasis-Beady Eye- Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds -Liam Gallagher-collaborations releases. Just leave your top 25 in this thread or pm me. When interested you can also leave some comments, always nice to read some motivations for particular song choices.
Criteria: Liam/Noel Gallagher sung, and officially released (remixes and certain demo or live versions not included, you vote for a particular song, not a version). Maybe you only want to choose the songs which you think define an era. Maybe you go for your current favorites that fit the vibe of previous months, or maybe you certainly need ' that one particular song included in the top 100". Because of a expanding discography, the minimum of songs you can contribute is a maximum of 25 songs. At least contribute 15 songs.

Points:

#1 250 pts
#2 200 pts
#3 150 pts
#4 100 pts
#5 50 pts
# 6 - #10 25 pts
# 11 - #25) 10 pts

if you're not bothered to rank the songs, each song wil individually get 25 points (if you dont put the "1. etc"in front of the titles theyre not "ranked").

Also each vote gets automatically multiplyed for each single vote
In example:
SONG A has 250 points but 1 vote= 250 x1= total 250 points
SONG B has 250 points but 4 votes= 250 X 4= 1000 points

This is my own list, of current favourites (and some songs I want to give some extra love):

1. Some might say: it has everything an Oasis classic should have....melody, swagger, great (harmnonizing) vocals,
uplifting lyrics and sound.
2. Whatever: it was (one of?) the first Oasis tracks I heard on the radio and ever since I was hooked. I just love
every version of this song. Just watch the Barrowlands version, just as Noel (or the crowd) gets to the
"What-ever you do..." part,ever noticed that guy in the audience, rasing his fist, singing his
heart out? Thats exactly how I feel about this song and even more, this band.
3. D'Yer Wanna Be A Spaceman?: love the low-fi 90's recording, the melody, the lyrics.
And it's my 6 year old son favourite. That's it.
4. Once: I am with Eric Cantona on this one, this is a great track. Wish Noel had written it..
5. While The Song Remains The Same: my favourite solo Noel song. There's a really simple cover of this track on youtube somewhere, sung by a girl. It appeared online just before the original
was released. Anyway after hearing the cover I realized how beautiful this tune was. And it means a lot to me.

6. Underneath The Sky: because I easily forget this tune, and everytime I hear it it reminds me of the great period
Noel was in as a songwriter.
7. All I've Need: the way I feel these days after quite a bit of a turbulent time.
8. Idler's Dream: just for sentimental reasons, and it's very different form any other Oasis track)
9. Alone On The Rope: why this wasnt released properly is beyond me. One of Noel's finest songs, ever.
10. The Girl In The Dirty Shirt: the pure joy of this....makes me miss the old Oasis every time I hear it.

12. All Around The World (my son loves this, every single second of it)

Yeah I could easily put Live Forever in somewhere high in my list but many people will have it in theirs to balance it out

For those of you struggling this is how I do it... might be helpful! I go through the list scoring them out of 10... so for instance I have five 10s, four 9.5s and 16 9s so luckily my 25 was easy. It’s then a case of ranking the 10s, 9s etc. Just a way of breaking it down rather than picking them from that massive list!
