Wasn't this known (that it was written early)? Think Don't Go Away was written around 93-94 too

I have this song on my tiny mp3 player, downloaded when it was released from some fan-made CD4 with BHN re-issue.
DGA might be as early as 92

I read somewhere that there is possibility that Wonderwall was written in 93. Don’t remember the source tho so it can be unreliable I guess

Don’t remember source tho so unreliable I guess I remember this too, but I think there's a good chance he just had bits and pieces by then He actually mentioned writing it in 3 different places (believe it was Scotland - Camden - maybe Brighton?), someone on the internet took the time to check tour dates and found the matching week, which was some time at the end of 94 I assume most work on it was done there

Really? I honestly didn't know that about Wonderwall so thanks for that. But like you say he probably just had bits and pieces of the song back then.

D'You Know What I Mean - Don't know when this was written, but you'd have thought it was one of the last ones written because it knowingly takes its chords from Wonderwall.
My Big Mouth was being soundchecked late 95 so I imagine it was written around then, too.
Magic Pie was the last song written for BHN - in late 96. It borrows a phrase Tony Blair used at the Labour Party Conference in Sep-Oct 96.
Stand By Me - 1994. The first line comes from when Noel first moved to London and made himself a Sunday dinner but didn't cook the chicken properly
I Hope, I Think, I Know was written early 96 as I think Noel talks about it in the TFI Friday interview that year?
Girl In The Dirty Shirt was end of 94/start of 95 around the time he started going out with Meg.
Fade In/Out - Unknown when this was written.
Don't Go Away was written in 94, maybe even 93 after hooking up with The Real People?
Be Here Now - Unknown when this was written
All Around The World we know dates from 92/93.
It's Getting Better (Man) - It fits in quite well with IHITIK and MBM, so I'd guess it was written late 95/early 96?

That’s Hewitts take and he was there at the time. I’ve got the WTSMG and BHN box sets and those 7s were defo one of the main attractions. The “Going Nowhere” demo seems to have been recorded at the same sessions as many of the WTSMG era stuff - like the Shes Electric and Hey Now demos. The WTSMG 7” has the Hello demo from those sessions also, which wasn’t available digitally as far as I’m aware. Another one for the keyring club here too 🙈🤣

The fact that BHN was written mainly around the same time as the first 2 albums proves why it is still a great album, despite the way it was recorded (for some). I've always thought Oasis best era was the first 3 albums and B sides. Noel's songwriting during this period was untouchable, God-like, legendary status, up there with Lennon and McCartney. Just about everything he wrote during that time was biblical. After BHN Noel's writing was never quite the same. He would never hit those extraordinary heights ever again. Maybe it was because he lost the hunger and drive that only comes from being poor and on the dole, or maybe it was because he came down off the drugs. Whatever it was - the hunger to be famous fuelled with drugs, Noel's songs suffered once he came down from the glory of fame and drug intake.
