Does anyone on this forum happen to have the full video of Liam being interviewed shirtless and ranting? Not just the I’d rather walk clip, but the full thing about stabbing the pilot, the flight attendant needing a pickaxe, etc.? I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find it.

About 5:10 in has most of it. The part that is cut is just the next question from the reporter. Right after Liam gives his opinion of the pilot, one of his handlers comes over and makes him walk away. The full, uninterrupted clip use to be floating around in the interwebs, but I can't seem to find it now (its not much longer than what is shown in that montage).

Yeah, the uninterrupted one seems to have been deleted, but like you said, this has most of the interaction.

I remember downloading it from YouTube years ago and then reuploading it in 2016 because I couldn't find it anywhere else and that original channel had been closed. I'd like to see the full clip before I'm old though LOL.

It was all downhill from here for Oasis in this part of the world (plus the music stopped being as good).

It was all downhill from here for Oasis in this part of the world (plus the music stopped being as good). Yes that tour - and that incident in particular - really killed them as far as the Australian media were concerned. The general public in Australia took their lead (as usual) from the tabloid newspapers and followed suit.

Yeah, I remember all that at the time and I agree that incident really killed Oasis in the Australian media. But it's a shame that the general public over there believed the tabloid crap.

That's Australians for you - most of them here choose their news service (TV or newspaper) according to which one has the best sports coverage.

True, mind you, there's a lot of people in the UK who actually believe everything they read in the tabloids about Noel and Liam. So I guess that it's not just the people in Australia.

"Oasis' first two albums, Definitely Maybe and (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, have sold over 250 million copies", imagine the level Noel and Liam's arrogance would hit if this was actually the case xD

Every boy at my school was into them, they were all over TV and the papers. In 99 at high school I was the only kid into them. The years of nu metal and skater rock had arrived.

I always enjoy hearing older perspectives of the band from their peak, especially from abroad. Its only when I hear stories like this and the popularity they had in USA that I genuinely get Noels hatred for Be Here Now. They should have let Morning Glory ride out for another year. Let the legend grow. It's like an ex girlfriend who everyone says was one of your fittest but she ruined your life when it was about to get great. So you just tell everyone she was awful.

Yeah, I agree with you there Oasis should definitely have taken a longer break after (What's The Story) Morning Glory? instead of rushing back into the studio again to record Be Here Now. But I guess that Noel wanted to keep on working and release another album.

They didn't do themselves any favours before coming to Australia. The original tour scheduled for November 1996 was cancelled. They would have been at their peak and were booked to play big outdoor shows.
The media ahead of the BHN tour here wasn't great and there were a few incidents including the flight from Hong Kong and I believe Liam got into trouble in Brisbane.
I went to the oasis gig in sydney and having seen U2 play popmart days earlier oasis the show was so much better.
But they missed their chance. Had they have played those gigs in 1996 it would have been a different story down under.

Yeah the Australia tour was a mess.
Liam banned from Cathay Pacific. Reports that the whole band were really rude to staff on the plane. Liam arrested for punching a photographer. Noel making a joke about Princess Di on Australian TV that didn't go down well. The Brisbane gig was apparently so bad that Noel publicly apologised to the fans who attended. And then they also cancelled an appearance on Hey Hey It's Saturday, leading Daryl Somers to take the piss out of them on show.
