In ten year's time, one will be hard-pressed to find people who openly admit to voting for Trump. I personally know of two lads who where very vocal in their support of Trump from the year 2016 until about the point in which the COVID-19 pandemic shut down the world. Both now claim that they never supported Trump in the first place. Methinks such denial will become widespread in time-- just like the virus. There's plenty of life long Republicans that will stand by their vote and did vote again for him in 2020. The economy was good and after the virus showed up, we only had that initial lockdown in most places. Aye, tis true that millions of people voted for Trump in 2020. We shall see how that action is regarded publicly in ten year's time. In my view, the primary talking point amongst conservative pundits-- that a vote for Trump is a vote for a strong economy-- is lazy and weak (unless you are a multi-millionaire). The U.S. economy was already in decent shape when Trump took office. In aggregate, Trump's large base of poor white supporters voted for him because of his stance on social issues, not economical.
