Anything that involves getting out of the doldrums at the moment is a winner.
But also - what a belting tune.

What a terrible song. I didn't like it then, and everytime I listen to try and give it another chance, my opinion remains.

I just can't hang with this. Worst one of the ep's.

I just can't hang with this. Worst one of the ep's. It wasn't on one of the E.P's, it was the lead single from Moon.

Blatant rip-off but my the best oasis single post BHN. WBTM would be one shit album without it.
Surprised by the non reaction this song got on the last tour

The song is ok but it's certainly not one of my favourite Noel songs. However, it's still better than Keep On Reaching which is the worst song on the WBTM for me.

Seriously wondered if it was a rickroll style joke at first, slightly warmed up to it, then never thought about it again. I love most of the album but I'm glad that song was more like a momentary departure.

I think if this song come out with Liam still in the wilderness then the fans would have been much more accepting of the "New direction".
The fact Liam was now well into his stride and making great oasis sounding music again I think made people realise he was now filling the Oasis void and stuff like this was just a desperate musical venture in comparison.
Beady Eye were playing right into his hands by being a new band with no Oasis songs and Noel on the other hand had hald a gig full of them and a good Oasis sounding album to boot. It's like roles completely switched. Only when Liam got it together he started doing huge headline shows not far off what Oasis were doing.
Don't be fooled into thinking Noel didn't take note of all the criticisms too. His next album will have plenty of the older stuff to keep people happy. I'm sure of it.

Gonna love this song til I die. The only drawback is that it’s a pretty big ripoff even by noels standard

I was simply saying i think the song falls victim of a perfect storm of Liam doing so well with his stuff and then Noel comes along with what is always going to be a marmite song at best with a very different sound. What is the actual topic just out of interest? If we dance to the song? If you're applying the logic that we should stay on topic then not one post has done that

You could just say something like that this song is better than ppl think, it was just released at the wrong time w/o all the unnecessary stuff(I’m not telling you what you should say, just explaining my opinion)

There's certainly never been a huge Liam vs Noel argument after anything i've said. Totally get why you'd assume i'm trying to do that though because it does happen a lot on here. It's difficult not to bring the other brother into the discussion for me sometimes because i feel like so much revolves around them both. Even Noel's interviews where he has told the interviewer not to mention Liam, he then does so anyway. So they do it themselves too!

Yeah in many cases these comparisons/bringing this up is inevitable and logical, considering, well, everything. But sometimes ppl bring it up to stir shit and that is annoying and avoidable

Best song off WBTM imo.
I thought this thread was going to be about how Noel had stolen a melody from a Fall Out Boy song...

I thought it was Ricky Martin? Sorry low hanging fruit 😁 Yeah Blondie isn’t dance music but some of their songs are catchy and danceable? For that time period ofc Idk Noel clearly tried to write dance track, just look at lyrics

Yeah, I thought it was Ricky Martin. lol. But the fact is this song isn't even one of Noel's best or even a classic and songs like Heart Of Glass and indeed Rapture by Blondie are classic dance tunes.

It’s not nonsensical or just silly lyrics, nonsensical or silly/cliche lyrics can still have meaning. Such lyrics can be excusable only if it’s dancey stuff which prime goal to entertain you, not make you feel something or think.
