If there's a thing I've learned on using social media is that at some point you've gotta let them having their opinion, everyday I read stupid things, no-Vax, no-mask (?) etc, you can't argue with them all, you just ignore them Yes but no-Disney soundtracks? Can't have that No Vax? No 5g? Are these any better? Non ti fare il sangue amaro lol, not worth it

Imo, this could be one of the best noel' solo songs P. s. Has Noel ever used so much chords in a song? Lol

Too much disrespect here, I'll day on the hill of Disney soundtracks If there's a thing I've learned on using social media is that at some point you've gotta let them having their opinion, everyday I read stupid things, no-Vax, no-mask (?) etc, you can't argue with them all, you just ignore them “Twitter is the playground of idiots.” - Noel Thomas David Gallagher

It's still not on Spotify. Very weird.
I take it its not on iTunes either? I would gladly pay 99p to have it on my phone in good quality.

I don't think it's weird, it's just a demo A demo that Noel clearly deems fit for public consumption, therefore it should be available on all streaming platforms, and not just YouTube. "Just a demo" is a good enough reason for it not being issued on vinyl, but there's no good reason this song isn't on Spotify.

The song might be on all of the streaming sites one day if he actually releases a proper version of it rather than just a demo but we'll have to wait and see.

I'm hoping it will pop up on one of the lossless download sites in a week or two ...
There's artwork for it, so it seems likely (I hope).

Erm, I don't think Wandering Star was planned as a Christmas song when he wrote it. They just put sleigh bells on it and it ended up sounding Xmasy, so they made it so. I really think you're clutching at straws. Listen to Oasis' back catalouge. Their songs stand the test of time because - even if the lyrics aren't great at times - the melodies and words always seem to be able to capture that emotion. Noel literally said in his post he was noodling about and then when it came, he realised the lyrics were quite suited. Huh? Please correct me if I'm misunderstanding your post (apologies if so) but are you saying I'm "clutching at straws" calling Wandering Star a Christmas song? When I wrote that post I knew that it was going to get some pushback (and correctly so) but I never expected the point about Wandering Star to be contested. And you're not the first person to do so! So let me get this straight... - The songs lyrics are (as stated in your post) "suited" to being a Christmas song. The title striking an obvious reference to the biblical story of the three wise men following the wandering star to Jesus's birth place, an event that we now celebrate as Christmas. - The song has sleigh bells on it making it (as stated in your post) "sound Xmasy". - A deliberate effort has been made to make a Christmas themed music video for the song featuring a renowned actor dressed in a Santa Claus outfit. - And finally (and most importantly) the song was deliberately saved to be released just before Christmas.
Again, apologies if I've misunderstood your post, but how is it "clutching at straws" to call a song that has been deliberately released for Christmas, featuring all this Christmas related stuff, a Christmas song?!Just because the song wasn't initially written to be a Christmas song? Noel made it Christmas song. He deliberately made decisions to make it one. Sorry, I meant in regards to trying to 'capitalise' on moments, is all - when I said 'clutching at straws'. I just think what makes Noel and Liam great is their ability to capture a moment, and I don't really think either of them try. So I don't think Noel is trying to capitalise on a moment at all really. Or at least, no more than his songs ever have done. You could say Champagne Supernova capitalised on a moment because the song happens to just sum up Oasis at that very moment in time, or Cigarettes & Alcohol capitalised on a moment because of the line about finding a job etc. Wondering Star - undoubtedly the tune did end up becoming Christmasy, I just don't think he set out to write an Xmas song at all. The lyrics aren't exactly anything to do with Christmas are they? That was my point, apologies for not being clearer.

Also its pretty dumb from a marketing point of view as a lot of people will now miss the track as not everyone uses YouTube, especially for listening to music.

I think it’s fine to express thoughts even if you’re not a music technician or credible critic, especially on a forum for this kinda thing. There are a lot of pretty experienced musicians here, from what I’ve learned, and I’m interested to read their opinions. I’m really enjoying this demo. Musically, I’ll leave the drums comments to others, I’m happy with it but don’t know enough to have a valid opinion. Lyrically there are some real sweet spots (dice... twice...) which did get me where they should. I feel that there are some cliches (...believing ...feeling) but as it is just a demo, and we know Noel switches lyrics for final versions, maybe he just dropped those in to fill gaps for completion reasons so he could contemplate the song as a whole and decide whether to take it further, in which case he could address these. Going forward, I don’t think he’ll have any plans to release this, possibly a b-side as is. He calls it a demo, but I’d have thought a lot of work has been put in to get it this far and this is as far as it can go. He’ll be sitting on better material more deserving of time and financial commitments. It’s ~7 for me and better than some of his actual releases; I guess that’s just down to taste. Really enjoyed your cover Rolo; divine as always and I loved the twinkly lights behind you, really fitting ✨ Thank you very much igotflair 😎

You can just download it to your files and it'll sync to spotify? I don't know why it was only put out on YouTube. Perhaps to get everyone streaming in one place, or perhaps to show that it's not an 'official' release? Or maybe it's just going to come out on something else further down the line.

If he really thought it was brilliant - as in one of his best that he's writing right now - I'm not sure he'd throw it out there within weeks of it being demo'd. It's great that he has, and as he's said, the lyrics and mood of the song fit what's needed right now. I wouldn't be surprised to see it revisited with full band etc, but simultaneously can imagine this never seeing an 'official' release or maybe getting tagged on as a bonus track? Feels like a song released for the moment.

Extreme cheese alert with this one. But light-years better than anything he's released post Chasing Yesterday aside from dead in the water.
I stand by my Disney Song statement. Having said that this puts Noel trending back in the right direction 💜

Folk calling this cheesey and clichéd clearly not Oasis fans then, no?
The music hasnae changed. You have. Ye loved it when ye were a bright eyed young 'un. It's still great. You're just older.
