......................and to be loved by everyone. Yeah, being honest and realistic, I dont see a number one single as ever being possible again for Liam and/or Noel. Songs like Wall of Glass and What A Life seemed pretty huge in their time, but only got to around no20. Even an excessively promoted, brilliant Oasis reunion single would probably only make the top ten. It had already started to show even before they split, when The Shock Of The Lightning only reached no3. I think what id view as an achievement for this one is if it made the top 20, as Liam hasn't had that since Oasis. Anything not cheesy and hopefully over the 3.30 length mark would be great. None Christmas related would be nice. Noel's attempt at it last November has the unfortunate effect of making me only think of Xmas...and thus not wanting to listen to it any other time.

I commented earlier that i heard something about a ballad earmarked for release ages ago, hinting it may have been in the works for a while and isn't specific to christmas. And yes, ive said before myself that id like Liam to do a longer song, albeit not necessarily a single. I remember last time i said Once had the potential to be 6 minutes or so long with more verses.

Nah I think an Oasis single would go to #1 off anticipation alone But top 40 for either Gallagher is a great result considering the prominence of streaming and how much they still count on actual sales With that said, fuck knows what may happen with a Christmas singles in these strange times

(Thought Top 10 for some reason) Well if after comeback Liam/WOG hype didn't crack the Top 20 safe to say solo Liam singles never will. But number 1 albums are good enough.

Yeah, being honest and realistic, I dont see a number one single as ever being possible again for Liam and/or Noel. Well if even your fans don't bother buying a single it's hard to get a number one. Given that this new single will probably only be available for me to physically buy on vinyl (which I can't play so I don't buy) it'll just be the latest in a long line of Noel and Liam singles which I've enjoyed immensely but not bothered to spend a single cent on. How hard is to put out a four track CD single like the old days? Even if the b-sides were just a demo, an instrumental and maybe a remix of the same song I'd buy that. Why the hell do I want some unplayable, multi-colored, bird-dropping splattered vinyl single which often has some daft picture carved into the b-side because they're too stingy to even throw an instrumental version of the a-side on there? Just another item to take up space and gather dust before my kids throw it in the skip after I'm gone. I'll stick with a "free" download of the song and listen to it that way instead.

I didn't realize until 3-4 years ago (pre joining Spotify free) just how important streaming is. Its literally EVERYTHING if you want to chart extremely high. Physical sales are great but you can only make so much and get people to order it online or pop in a store like the good old days. Now it is all about getting your new single on the right curated Spotify playlists that get the most ears drawn to them. I'm sure there are all sorts of illegal backdoor deals to make sure certain artists get that exposure. I bet Liam's new single might be 4,000-5,000 for vinyl only. That is a nice little start but he will need a TON of streams from unlikely places to get to #1. We shall see if Williams can work his celestial magic one more time. Jingle Bells, ho ho ho, Merry Gallagher!

The big seller on an oasis reunion would be the album , a single would hit more worldwide and top 10 uk but streaming affected there chart placing , Liam and Noel still shift a lot of singles and get streamed a lot just not as much as mainstream but some singles have still shifted 100s thousands

Is this gonna be a standalone single or part of album 3? Thats actually not a bad point, id just been naturally assuming it was the start of the third album hype train. Maybe its a standalone single, being partly for charity at Christmas and all?
