He officially released his first single. Don't know if there is a forthcoming album (in which case we can change the subject of this thread)

He originally released Plastic Bag as a singles only 7” Vinyl in late 2019. Was rereleased on Friday on cassette tape, 100 only, both are sold out. Both tracks are available on his BandCamp page. The B-side, The Commune is pretty cool. andybell.bandcamp.com/releasesAndy has also released an album, Dissident, under the name GLOK. It’s also been remixed. Dark, ambient instrumental tunes, proper late night number. glok.bandcamp.comAnd there is also an “In Isolation” duet he has done with C.A.R., track 15. ransomnoterecords.bandcamp.com/album/ransom-note-presents-pen-pals

I have a lot of time for Andy, genuinely a gracious and kind dude. Spoken to him on twitter a couple of times now and he thanked me for the support after I’d picked the Dissident record. Highly recommend that album and the new remixed version has some pretty cool reworks on it. It’s been dedicated to Andrew Weatherall after his passing. Andy had provided guitar on a couple of his last EPs, a nice touch.

When Andy joined the band in late 1999 I had very high hopes for him creatively given his history with Ride and Hurricane #1. Outside of "Turn Up The Sun", which is brilliant, I always felt let down by his creative contributions. I think Noel intimidated him too much. Sure he was a solid citizen bandmate and soldier on tour but I wanted more. Maybe that is unfair on my part. Stuff like this shows that Andy can conjure up interesting material.

Maybe it would be interesting to have a sub-forum for the rest of Oasis members so we don't miss this kind of news (even if there wouldn't be much activity). Edit: Wow, The Commune sounds really good, some Gas Panic vibes on minute 3. I wouldn't mind this being released as a Oasis bonus track with Liam on vocals if they ever reform.

Plastic Bag is great! So dark and melodic. Putting this one on only after midnight.

Agree - Andy is the single most frustrating Oasis member. Ride are brilliant (well, the first two and most recent two), Glok are really interesting, and so is this solo stuff. I always felt he was the collaborator Noel needed but never got (or perhaps never fully permitted). Hey ho, back to the recent brilliant Ride for me.

It’s not a shade I like Andy and Plastic bag w B-side but it’s kinda funny that all his solo output incl. Glok i.e. regardless of genre is music you listen to when you want to calm down, relax and eventually fall asleep.

It's basically four minutes of guitar tuning run backwards and reverbed in Audicity? Next!

I feel the exact same way-I think it was after Beady Eye, Andy released some things on soundcloud under the name Raging Peace I think, they were 20-40 minute instrumentals, I couldn't tell if they were original or like his DJ work of mixing stuff together. I think I saved 2 or 3 of them on my harddrive.

Luckily my harddrives were at the top of my packed up boxes, also I misremembered the name. He posted as "Psychedelic Machine", he included a random photo with each upload as well. I swore I remembered him titling the tracks at one point and giving them a description but I didn't save those details unfortunately. Raging PeaceTapesAstrochemistryJust a basic soundcloud rip, so its low quality, but they are all roughly 30 minutes of music. Did some light searching, Andy referenced them in some tweets in 2015, even mentioned Jims blog

I really should’ve just searched back as I had memories of talking to Andy about the instrumentals as well as the tracks he worked on with Arveene too. www.discogs.com/JMRS-Andy-Bell-2-Arveene-Only-A-Feeling/release/6477502

The new GLOK album, Dissident Remixed is out today.
Some cracking reworks on it. Andy’s extended GLOK remix of Pulsing is a belter and one the last Andrew Weatherall remixes, Cloud Cover is right up there too.

The great irony is that Andy will end up having the best solo album out of anyone from Oasis.
