I personally don't want a Noel acoustic album at the expense of him pushing the envelope further after WBTM. However, does Noel have a home studio? If so now in quarantine would be the time to do it.
I wonder if he's been doing a lot of writing at least

Don't want this. There's not enough variety in his acoustic songs to sustain a full album. Even if the songs were of the quality such as Half The World Away, Talk Tonight and Dead In The Water, an entire album of these songs would get too samey.
It's okay if you are an amazing lyricist (which we know Noel is not), but an acoustic album does expose the lyrics a lot more and you wouldn't be able to rely on the sonic wizardry to compensate for a poor lyric.
Regardless of the absolute masterpiece gem that is Dead In The Water, if this means listening to shite like She Must Be One Of Us, then count me out.

Every fanbase seems to want a fabled "back to basics, acoustic" album. Never got the desire. Colour and energy!

Regardless of the absolute masterpiece gem that is Dead In The Water, if this means listening to shite like She Must Be One Of Us, then count me out. Let me clarify. I am absolutely in the camp that does not want an acoustic album. I want WBTM on steroids with interesting tracks and production. I know they are not mutually exclusive but in normal circumstances, Noel would not want to do both simultaneously. I'm just saying, now is the only time I'd be ok with an acoustic album (or EP) because it would be something different to pass the time. It's not like he can create a WBTM right now. So while I do not wish for an acoustic album, this quarantine may be a window to put out at least an acoustic EP and get it out of his system or as a treat for fans who have been begging for one (not me). So while a more interesting album is what I want long term, during this time I'd be happy with an Acoustic EP to hold us over.

He was writing for a bit but then stopped (said this on Matt Morgan's podcast), has a few guitars there, but he's been building a studio elsewhere.

I wonder if he's been doing a lot of writing at least Yeh he's been writing (he told Matt Morgan on his podcast the week before last). But he hasn't got a studio at home. The one he's been building is in London and he's out in Hampshire. Then he says he got bored of writing and has just been riding his bike and getting pissed.

As been said by others, Noel really doesn't have enough variation in his playing to do a whole acoustic album. Without greater variation, he'd be reliant on better lyrics. For example, Bob Dylan has a pretty basic playing style. Springsteen on Nebraska isn't a whiz on an acoustic. But both of them create fantastic lyrics.
Moreover, I think Noel's acoustic sets have always created this false sense that he could pull off an acoustic album. But those acoustic sets are basically composed of his greatest hits. It's not that different from people looking at Liam's best songs written over the course of ten years, and saying yeah, he could write a great full album by himself. So yeah, when you have a bunch of Slide Aways, Don't Look Back in Angers, and even Dead in the Waters, you're gonna sound like you can do an acoustic album. But the idea of him delivery quality enough tunes in short order isn't really feasible.

An acoustic album of already released songs, which 10 tracks would you choose?

Moreover, I think Noel's acoustic sets have always created this false sense that he could pull off an acoustic album. Nailed it. Those HFB tracks which are Noel at his Noeliest - If I Had A Gun, The Dying Of the Light, Dead in the Water, Wandering Star - are all great tracks, but I wouldn’t even want all 4 of them on the same record, let alone another 7 of them alongside.

A whole album of acoustic stuff would get a bit boring. I'd be keen for Noel to do some piano lead songs. The only one I can think of is Idler's Dream, which is amazing. Acoustic guitar and piano album!!!!!

Acoustic guitar and piano album!!!!! Yeah I don’t think people mean literally one man, one guitar. I’d see it more as you describe, basically stripped back like MTV Unplugged.

I’d like to make a album/playlist of the top 10 stripped back acoustic Noel songs. Any ideas?
Just found a decent Rock N Roll Star as well as Live Forever. Slide Away will have to be on it. Dead in the Water, Talk Tonight, Dying of the Light etc. What else?

At least his voice is at his most bearable when he sings with acoustic.

I think people immediately translate acoustic to slow ballads.
An acoustic cd could have tunes such as Riverman, X Ray Eyes, If Love Is The Law, A-line On The Rope, Rattling Rose and A Dream Is All I Need To Get By. And that would be awesome.
It doesn't mean it would be 10 different versions of Dead In the Water...

I'd take a NG acoustic album. I'd take NG anything. Whatever he wants to write and release I will happily enjoy (hopefully!) and at the very least be grateful for the opportunity.

Forgive me, acronyms are not my strong point. FM, AANMSP Teenage Cancer Trust gig that was released as an album called The Dreams We Have as Children (the name doesn't include Fade Away in the end as in acronym). HTH, hope this helps.
