Day 5 or 7 of quarantine it feels like a very long Sunday except there's no football. days blend one into another, it reminds me of this quote by Janis Joplin: “Tomorrow never happens. It’s all the same fucking day, man.” On a work conference call today I thought it was Tuesday and a colleague corrected me saying “it’s Thursday”. X

Anti everything page is going to suddenly call me a pro *bad thing they hate* for knowing online gambling is still on during Covid 19. Maybe they should look instead of crying to the masses.

Over here they're going to full beds for the homeless people in a sport hall to keep them inside. It's not officially lock down over here yet. We can still go outside with max. 3 people unless we keep distance of 1,5 meter from each other. In reality majority of people stay inside include myself. I'm glad that I have my garden where I can get some fresh air every day. Besides our country, we're hearing/seeing the situation in Italy, Spain and UK on news the most right now, but how's France, lubeck? Stay safe and stay strong everyone!

Here in New York, people are dying in the ER while waiting for a hospital bed. There aren't enough ventilators. Entire hospitals will soon be dedicated to COVID-19. A truck is stationed outside to hold corpses.
The people who are dying now were infected 2-3 weeks ago… and things will probably get worse over the next couple of weeks.
Things will get worse over the next couple of weeks. Not just in New York, but the rest of the USA. Think about that while our president puts on a daily show for his underlings to praise him, tell us what a great job he is doing, and to push for the shutdown to end.

He’d trample over someone’s body if he saw a dollar lying on the ground. Stay safe

I think one of the big flaws of trying to contain the virus in larger USA cities and prob elsewhere in the world is people are allowed to order take out and travel to crowded grocery stores where no doubt infected people are working or shopping.

Think about that while our president puts on a daily show for his underlings to praise him, tell us what a great job he is doing, and to push for the shutdown to end. Here in Florida people were still at the beaches as recent as a few days ago. Driving around town, children playing at parks as their parents chat on the bench. People still flooding into restaurants and shopping malls. Meanwhile, the local hospital is beginning to dedicate entire floors to Covid and sections of the ER to quarantine those suspected to have corona.
I suspect much is the same elsewhere in other states. Leadership has failed, but so have the people. Fucking morons here truthfully. You can't flip on the television or get on the internet without seeing the stories and the numbers, but people here are still convinced it's all overblown and that it's not going to hurt them or that they just don't give a fuck either way. And then of course they get it and they spread it and then they're posting on social media about how sorry they are. Ughh.
Things are going to get very very bad in the United States overall in the next month. The cats out of the bag now, Trump lost his ability to control this. Now it's just a matter of when everybody will get it and we have to hope it's not all at once.

When you have a crisis like this it shows you what people really are. It's been an eye-opener to me the amount of selfish bastards who inhabit my city and country. That said, there are also many good people ready and willing to help those in need. I hope that, when we are past this, some good will come out of a bad situation, and people will finally see who the stars of the show are.
Hope everyone on the forum is doing well.

I never thought I'd say it but people in my town seem to be actually listening to all the advice. I've been out twice in the last 7 days or so and I didn't really see anyone. And the people I did see kept their distance (albeit being very friendly and smiling etc which doesn't normally happen round here
