I read on the BBC news pages earlier that early data shows that the vaccines are effective against the India variant. So that's good news.

Well today of course we've had further restrictions out of lockdown but we still have to be careful especially with the India variant and I read that it may delay the rest the lifting out of lockdown for the rest of the restrictions. So we'll have to wait and see what happens next.

From Wednesday on gyms and zoos will open, terraces from restaurants will be open til 8 pm instead of 6 and some other stuff.
Whelp, that means no more excuses regarding the gym and yoga.

I read on the BBC news pages last night that the India variant has spread to other areas so I really hope that it's not going to be too bad because we don't want another lockdown.

Many restrictions are lifted from today over here and that's clearly because of vaccination.

California, the most populous state in the US, has been the lowest in terms of cases per capita for a couple of weeks (currently 3 per 100K). With vaccinations and continued mask wearing, we are knocking this out (mask restrictions are soon on their way out, though at least where I live, people are not giving them up so far). Things are starting to feel more normal - concerts are being announced, restaurants are open for onsite dining (though again, no one seems to be actually taking them up on that and stay outside - I went to one yesterday and zero people were eating inside, though the outside tables were full). The only really annoying thing is schools are still closed. My kid has been home for 15 months.

I read on the BBC news pages that a new strain of Covid has been found in Yorkshire but it's been monitored and it's not thought to be resistant to the vaccines. I think that these new strains will keep popping up from time to time now.

I read on the BBC news pages that more than 50 million vaccine doses have now been given in England which is great news.

I got my first jag on Wednesday.
Absolutely floored me. I felt shocking until this morning. Will be worth it in the long run though!

I got my first jag on Wednesday. Absolutely floored me. I felt shocking until this morning. Will be worth it in the long run though! Congrats. Had the same (with Pfizer) and if you're someone who reacts (or if you had Covid at any point last year), the second I'm afraid can be the same or even stronger for the first 48. Take a couple days off, if you can. But then it's done and totally worth it.

I read on the BBC news pages that both the Pfizer and the AZ jabs work against the Indian variant. So that's good news. Also, the UK passes 60 million Covid vaccination milestone which is also good news.

I've been struggeling with people around me who don't care for all those restrictions. In their eyes, I'm the one who are dead scared to get affected. Who cares? I know what I'm doing, not only for myself, but for those I DO care as well.

I got my first jag on Wednesday. Absolutely floored me. I felt shocking until this morning. Will be worth it in the long run though! Likewise, had my first one about a month ago. Had a rotten 12 hours through the night - felt like a bad hangover with fast heart rate, sweating, chills and a blinding headache. Slept through a bit of it but once morning came, I crawled out of bed to get a couple of paracetamols and within half an hour everything had gone. Really weird but a natural response to know that your body is kicking into gear. The response though is probably worse for those whoβve had it - had the virus back in November so the reaction was just my bodyβs defence recognising it once again. But as others have said, Iβve had it and looking forward to the second one. Great feeling to feel protected. I only feel sorry for those who are happy not to have the vaccine and risk allowing the virus to constantly infect them and, well, ultimately fuck them over for good. Height of stupidity in my opinion.

And, I agree with you that it's the best thing to get vaccinated and I can't understand these people who don't want it.

So from today people from the UK are flying out to Spain idiots when they've been told not to because it's an amber country. OK our useless Government haven't been clear about it but why do some people have to be so selfish. If they really want a holiday then why don't they go to a safe one.

Now I know Dominic Cannings is an idiot but I do tend to believe what he's said about Boris Johnson and Matt Hancock over their handling of the Covid crisis. I mean all the people who have died because of the PM's incompetence etc and Matt Hancock is the worst health security ever. Neither are fit for their jobs. Also, we need an inquiry now and not next spring.

From next Saturday 5th June many restrictons will be lifted and in the end of June, it'll be most likely back to "normal" again.

I think that Covid has certainly changed things and I hardly go up town now unless I have to. I think a lot of people have changed their habits to what they were before. Yes, we've got vaccines now but it still doesn't make me want to go out as much as I used to.

I read on the BBC news pages that very few people in hospital with Covid have had both their jabs. So it's good to know that the vaccines are definitely working.

I read on the BBC news pages that there's been a warning by Professor Ravi Gupta from the Cambridge University that there are signs of a third wave of Covid. He said even though new cases were relatively low the Indian variant had fuelled exponential growth. I really hope that we don't get another wave of it though.

I read on the BBC news pages earlier today that zero daily Covid deaths have been announced in the UK for the first time since March 2020. This is good news although daily deaths reported over the weekend are often lower and at the start of the week.

I watched that documentary on Channel 4 last night about these anti vaccine people and honestly they're total idiots. They believe that Covid was made deliberately. Honestly they're absolutely stupid if that's what they really believe. I watched it because I wanted to see what they had to say.
