If you haven't checked them out already Squid are worth having a quick listen to. They've released quite a few EPs and singles already but they're dropping their debut 'Bright Green Field' in May. The first single 'Narrator' from it was released last week and it's very good!

Seriously though, I'm not the only one hearing that, am I? The way in how he says the words "pit" and "eyes"(in Houseplants) sounds EXACTLY like him.

2 new post-punk albums released today. TV Priest's debut 'Uppers' which is quite enjoyable. The other is Black Country, New Road's debut 'For the First Time' which seems to be getting lots of good reviews though is less my kind of thing.
Working Mens Club, as already named by defmaybe00 , deserve a little love too. They've got a delightfully retro sound which deserves to have been brought back. A very 80's/90's electronic vibe. I suspect fans of that music could potentially really love them. Hoping they'll drop a classic in the future. Instrumentally 'John Cooper Clarke' is superb. Very New Order. The bass line reminds me of 'Bad Life' by PiL and the synth line is stylistically reminiscent to 'Zero' by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Never heard about TV Priest, guess I'll give them a try in the next few days
Black Country, New Road's record is pretty good, great drumming, interesting sounds throughout and some fun lyrics as well as the violin and sax as key elements setting them apart from others I fear it may be the kind of thing I get tired of after a couple of months tho, but on the other hand it's probably something that's supposed to be played live to reach its full potential Don't think it's deserving of some of the 9/10 and 5 stars reviews I'm seeing, but then media drooling over a pretentious London band with big Mark E. Smith vibes is hardly news
I thought Working Men's Club debut was very enjoyable, truly sounds like it came straight from the late 80s, wouldn't be surprised to see them blow up like IDLES did in the next 2 or 3 years They were supposed to support Noel in one of those 2020 gigs, he's a fan apparently

The two singles for Parquet Courts upcoming album are worth checking out:
As is the first single for IDLES upcoming album. Worth a listen if you weren't a fan of their last album...

Well impressed with this. Came out earlier this year. Strong Half Man Half Biscuit vibes from the vocalist.

Nice to see Yard Act's debut LP reached number 2 in the album charts.
Latest Fontaines D.C. singles...
Really like the drumming on this.
Album out in April.

I always find post punk quite broad and hard to define, It's overall one of my favourite genres but it can sound so different. here's a few really fucking good songs that I think are post punk but maybe lean a bit into whatever you'd define New Order as by Drab Majesty, Cold Cave and Body Of Light

In times like this I find it emotionally soothing to go full goth and embrace nihilism. I don't want to veer this thread off genre but lets get dark!

All 3 of the Fontaines DC singles are different for Skinty Fia yet all are quality. Think this album will be a belter.

The new Viagra Boys album 'Cave World' dropped last week. They're probably my favourite band of the last few years and the new album certainly hasn't disappointed. From what I've read online and in reviews it's been very well received. For those who give a shit about Anthony Fantano's opinion he gave it a strong 9 out of 10 (the same score he's just given Black Midi's 'Hellfire' btw). Here's how I'm currently ranking the tracks (excluding the interludes):
9. Baby Criminal 8. Big Boy 7. Return To Monke 6. Creepy Crawlers 5. ADD 4. The Cognitive Trade-Off Hypothesis 3. Troglodyte 2. Punk Rock Loser 1. Ain’t No Thief
