It's decent but as I said before for other noel'songs, it could have been much much much better. The melodies are great but the production sounds empty and the structure makes the song repetitive. Imo he needs to work with other people if he wants to continue with this kind of music. 7/10

7/7.5 - it's too short but what there is of it, I like.

I'm not sold on the middle instrumental part. 6,5-7 for me. Good chorus though.

It's like you are Roger Federer but then you decide to play football and you end up playing in third Bulgarian league.

For me it's the most enjoyable song from EPs, doesn't mean too much by the way...

By far the worst of all the new EP tracks released. The song goes nowhere. Chorus is no good. More daft lyrics about flying off in his girls eyes. Zzzzzzzzzzz. Wandering Star was great. This is crap.

First listen, 7.
Wanted a proper explosion but Noel seemingly no longer does that.
Think this song has a ceiling of 7.5 or so. It’s nice, but could have been so much better.

I give it 7.5/8 out of 10. Pretty good but it's missing something

8/10 decent tune. Could've done a little more with such a good chorus. A little short as well.

That middle section is still criminally short in my book and ought to build up to something much more frenetic. Having an extended dance break that keeps building and building between the two choruses would've been perfect. A longer intro but especially outro would've made for great bookends and (most importantly) comedown.
Almost 23 years on and Noel's still irrationally afraid of making songs longer. Sad. With dance and house music once you find a good groove you've gotta keep it going, because if it's good nobody will care if it lasts forever. In fact, that's what people will want! Someone ought to tell Noel that most people stay on the dance floor for longer than 3 minutes and 43 seconds.

Its actually growing on me. Maybe the first « dance » tune that fits noel voice perfectly. Id rather he went back to rockin though.
A 7 to 8

Not for me. I'm glad he's trying something different, but sometimes it works (A dream is all I need, Rattling Rose, This is the place...) sometimes it doesn't. It lacks some soul.

Good song but not amazing. Hopefully not the best on the EP

6 out of 10 Good song but not amazing. Hopefully not the best on the EP Unless he butchers it, Come On Outside will be 10,000 times better than BMR.

It needs a dancey sax solo after the last chorus instead of going back to the slow part so soon, in the vein of Midnight city by M83. The way he is doing these songs, they are more or less ok but they lack variation and instrumentation.

And the emotionnal one, the one he (so far) only managed to come up with his 6 strings. Synths can be nice but they will never touch Wood and string vibrations. One is in the head, the other one in the gut and heart.

Sorry Andy, but I find the argument that guitars are somehow more real instruments that are capable of making emotional music for the heart really ridiculous ;-P For example, some of Aphex Twin’s more beautiful melodies really hit me in the feels, even if they’re played on a plastic synth. Far more emotional than Noel’s more mediocre songs. Probably All In The Mind, I’m looking at you. I can also think of many guitar players whose style is very “technical” and unemotional. X

Or a piano. Vibrations dont go through your body. Ridiculous or not. That does not mean a synth song cant be emotionnal. Noels one are not. That’s all i am saying. Many pulp songs are synths based and very emotionnal as a whole. You can be emotionnal with your iPhone too. Some people love it more than their spouse i heard.

I’ve been in clubs with big soundsystems and the synths there made my body resonate far more than an acoustic guitar would’ve...! It was pretty emotional too :-) X
