A bit undercooked, a bit more development and it would be brilliant. But I like the vibe a lot. Wouldn’t mind seeing Noel really push this type of thing in another song. Agree 100% with this. It reminds me of the weird experiments that bands in the 90s would tack away as b-sides because they were test-running ideas that would appear on their next album. Maybe not the most substantial, but a nice foreshadowing of what's to come. With that in mind, it seems that 1) Noel's finally figured out what b-sides are actually for and 2) if a song with this kind of vibe is what Noel's comfortable releasing right now, then the next album could very well be more adventurous than WBTM. Crossing my fingers that my prediction holds to be true.

Finally got a chance to give this song a proper spin (or five) after work. Not sure it meets any of the previous descriptions. It isn't an Oasis throwback, it isn't Dr. John doing a New Orleans thing You can definitely hear a Gris-Gris vibe in the dense arrangement, relentless hypnotic riffs and the tribal, witchy background vocals. I might not have thought so if Noel hadn't mentioned it, you picked this out of a recent interview in one of your previous posts and it caught my eye , but it is there IMO.

I don't even like Shockwave that much but its nowhere near the worst. I dont know, it feels too fabricated for me. I really tried to like it. But it ticks all the boxes of the song that is too perfect to be true. It's that girl with too much make up on. I don’t agree with you (as ever) but like your analogy.

My review: A man on the wobble.... Maybe next time he'll release the sound of a building site where he where some falsetto over and call it a bit of krautrock mixed with a heavy nothern vibe. Btw parka monkeys will not get it!

The groove of it is great. Really pleased with this one.

I mean it sounds cool and moody and all but doesn't really go anywhere. Yeh I do agree with that. Think it's the next step for Noel is really making these types of songs go somewhere to really elevate them. But I think this could easily have been on that AA album and back in 2011 everybody would be saying how 'different' it is for Noel, if you get me. But I really like it for the song it is. Cool, moody as hell. Like the vibe and in that sense I think it achieves what it sets out to so I'm happy. The backing 'howls' are very Kasabian as well.

Tbf, 'Second Coming-era Stone Roses with Dr John vibes' is quite an accurate description from Noel, tbf.

I reallly love the first minute or so.
After that, the middle gets a bit repetitive but then the last minute or so is great.
Think a second 'verse' would have made it.
As it is it's a very decent instrumentalish song.

All the track including the remixes are really good. Evil flower has a really good groove when you get into it. This is music to move to

So I bought TITP vinyl but Evil flower is not in my downloads. Does this mean I have to buy it separate like I did Sail On? If so wtf, this is getting annoying and my phone is a mess with these eps

A shortened version of Evil Flower would have been cool as the interlude on Who Built the Moon

The more I listen to these EP's the more I long for a collaboration between Reverend and the makers and Noel Gallagher. They'd be brilliant putting their creative heads together.

I emailed Noel's store after Sail On did not appear as a download and they told me it's not included with my vinyl purchase. This is really stupid and the same again for Evil Flower - to the music industry experts: What's the reason for that (if any)?

I liked Evil Flower on first listen but it’s really growing on me as I listen to it more.
Right now I’m swagger dancing around the kitchen imagining I’m a space bandolero wearing a cowboy hat, leather chaps and a bandolier, smoking cigarillos through my evil grin.
The dog looks nonplussed.

Gotta say this one isn't really doing it for me, the intro and general sound are great, the vocals are a little grating, the melody just a little thin.
It reminds me of the Right Stuff, which had the "when your heart gets shattered" part to add some spice. Evil Flower just goes on for a bit.

The reasons are that TM Stores is shit and Noel's management doesn't give a fuck. It's 2019 FFS. This shouldn't be a problem anymore!

Not bad, but nothing remarkable about it. A nice background song that should've been an instrumental.

This is utter plodding nonsense. From the very first seconds it sounded promising but then it turned into an absolutely monotonous, self-absorbed and unuseful track modelled on the same melody as Keep on Reaching, which Noel has rehashed. Appalling.
