In fact I read a lot into these lyrics Well the changing of the guard is oh so real (People are now in Liam's favour over Noel's) But before I go I wanna tell you how I feel (last message before his break) I gave you the chance to build a life worth living (held out an olive branch for a reunion) But you cut off the love like a vine that can never grow back (relationship is beyond repair) Oh I used to go away and come back, back another day But now I don't know how long I'm gonna be gone But I'm gonna be gone (see above) Well I hung on like a dog for life and limb (referencing struggles after Beady Eye broke up) And the burning house cut shapes upon the scrim I gave you the chance to build a life worth building But you smashed the plans up and now they can never grow back You had fun stringing me along (long drawn out downfall of Oasis) But oh no player you were wrong But now I don't know how long I'm gonna be gone But I'm gonna be gone Now woman, I wanna tell you something I ain't ever seen the likes of you before So I was willing to stand still while you pushed But you finally pushed me out the door So I wanna hear you say it! I wanna hear you beg me! (this is where the theory falls apart) Oh I used to go away and come back, back another day But now I don't know how long I'm gonna be gone But I'm gonna be gone So, Noel is looked on as a woman by Liam?

I'm sure he would probably argue yes! But that is why I said that theory sort of falls apart, but the song doesn't have to be completely about that I guess - but that is definitely the meaning I get from the first verse and the chorus

beautiful!!! Sounds like Ennio Morricone. The part where Liam speaks sensually is fantastic!

It sounds like Liam's more upbeat answer to Noel's The Man Who Built The Moon Definitely got TMWBTM vibes as well tbh. Love the tune, great closer

I don’t feel any connection in this song to Liam. The lyrics sound like an angry American ranting about his ex-wife. The I want to hear u beg me line is especially gross.

I think a stripped down production would have helped the song. Or something that would have felt a bit more dynamic. Its a great song itself but it sounds just like plodding along.

Probably the most well produced song off the album, and the western vibe is really cool.

The worthy response to a song like "The man who built the moon" is a hypothetical soundtrack for a serial movie - western. It comes into your head after the first half hour, nice song.

Really cinematic, I can well imagine Gone in a soundtrack. Anyone for a showdown? I love the sound, it just feels complete and well thought-out. My favourite behind Once and Now That I've Found You.

With a faster rhythm, this one could’ve been on The Last Shadow Puppets’ debut.

I’m sure it’s been said before but the Yeah, Yeahs and strings at that point sound just like the DYKWIM Rethink.
