Why not talking about music? His new ep? Most people aren't interested in his new music. Apparently not even the man himself.

From the interview how on earth is Noel a "wise, wise man"? Because he's saying stuff most people don't want to hear. How do you know what people do or don't want to hear? Still doesn't explain how that interview shows him to be a wise, wise man?

Still doesn't explain how that interview shows him to be a wise, wise man? He's just trolling and wants people to be triggered by his posting.

Why not talking about music? His new ep? Because the Guardian doesn't care about Noel's new music. Than why being interviewed by the guardian? Rhetorical question Sad way to promote your music

It's sad when you put an interview on the same day of your new single and you barely talk about it and you just talk about politics and your brother playing glasto Just a reminder: Noel is being asked questions, he answers them. then the paper publishes whatever it wants, it's called an angle. The Guardian has zero interest about publishing an an interview focused on music. They want politics and feuds. They got it. So you're going with the blame the media line to defend Noel Gallagher? Noel has manipulated the media better than any other music artist since Oasis came on the scene - if he wanted the interview to be all about his new music, new EP, new tour or whatever that is what he would have spoken about. More to the point, if he felt his new music going to be well received that would be all he would talk about, it won't be so he's gone back down the clickbait route

“You’re sat in a room with some guy from Stockholm who you’ve never met and he’s asking you about your mum. It’s fucking preposterous. Because the honest answer to that is: ‘What’s it got to do with you?’ But the smart answer is always: ‘I liked her until she gave birth to Liam.”
He’s explained the game in the first para. His “without prejudice” if you like.
Apart from a reunion, nothing will give them more publicity than this bs and they’re clearly both taking advantage of the shite situation their relationship is in.

They should have asked Noel if he's been asked to do MTV Unplugged.

So you're going with the blame the media line to defend Noel Gallagher? What ? defend him of what ? Did he kill someone ? Is he on trial ? I'm just saying this is how an interview works, but seems like Noel should ask the question, answer them, publish them on his newspaper, if we're to follow what some people on here say.

Listen man if you know that journalists from the guardian doesn't care about music than you won't do your first interview to promote your new single with them Unless all you care is making people talking about you and not about the music

The "music" interviews will come from other medias, or radios interviews, probably sooner than later. Not that people will be interested. Only a few of us care about those interviews, really. but then again, Noel wants some press. Looks like he will have some. I did not expect to read about anything music related when clicking on a Guardian interview.

He did this so people will talks about him on the same day of his single but he never speak about it and that's sad because he's a musician ffs No. But Liam does the same. Stop getting on your high horse. They BOTH do it because they both know how to generate interest.

Apart from a reunion, nothing will give them more publicity than this bs and they’re clearly both taking advantage of the shite situation their relationship is in. Exactly. Nail on head. I can't believe people have read the article and then said it's bitter or whatever, when - as you've put so eloquently - he's literally explained the point in the first par. The Liam stuff isn't nice. When Liam speaks about Noel it's not nice. I'm not happy with their relationship but it's not my business so fuck it. The rest of the stuff is just Noel by the numbers. The first bit on climate change - it's clearly a fucking joke, it's even phrased and cited by the journalist as a joke - yet I imagine people will manage to get wound up by it. Is he 'bitter' about Liam? Maybe. But it's more the case that he just really, really, really doesn't like the guy. It's hatred and that's sad, but it's not our place to judge.

My guess is that this thread will somehow find the legs to run for longer than necessary and at the end people will still be up in arms about some bullshit spouted by someone who I'm pretty sure none of us have ever had a proper conversation with, what the fucks it matter really?

I did not expect to read about anything music related when clicking on a Guardian interview. It's a promotional interview. You'd get as much information about the music from this as you would from him going on Chatty Man. The interview will be a week or two old. It's embargoed and kept back to go out right now, when the single (which I still haven't listened to yet as I've forgot my earphones ) drops. My dad sent me the link. He's not a massive fan. But he still clicked. Job done. Promotion. No casual fan is gonna click on a random paper link that has the tag 'Noel talks about cosmic pop' or whatever. Just like nobody would click on a link that said 'Liam delves into the production of Shockwave'. Not gonna happen.

Can’t wait to read another 10 pages of this thread in about 3 hours time reiterating the same arguments that come from every Noel interview. It’s almost like he knows it’s going to get people talking, weird. I did see that Dan Wooton has got involved again, posting a screenshot of what Noel said about Liam’s music, labelling it “genius”. It’s amazing how much Dan hates Liam as well.

Shame to hear how he is with Liam nowadays.
Hope they just start talking one day before it's too late.

I’ve been sent this link by 12. Twelve. TWELVE!!! people who have no interest in anything Gallagher. This shit promo works.
I’d usually say I Hope Liam stays over there and doesn’t respond but it’s clearly what they want so come on then Liam, what u got?

“That’s not the first time he’s sent texts to my daughter, or left threatening phone calls on my wife’s answering machine. So when he’s threatening my wife via my teenage daughter, I’m thinking, you know, if you weren’t a rock star, if you were just an uncle who worked in a garage, you’d be getting a visit from the police. But because you’re a rockstar, wahey, you get away with that shit.”
He gives his reasons.
I'm sure Liam has stuff to fire back.

“I think it’s unsophisticated music. For unsophisticated people. Made by an unsophisticated man. Who’s giving unsophisticated orders to a load of songwriters who think they’re doing the Oasis thing. Which goes back to what I was saying before. You can turn the Marshall amp up to 12 all you want and do a bit of glam, but Oasis words were about including people, everyone in it together. And what I hear from him is just a load of bile ... angry nonsense.”
That's the bit that sounds unnecessarily bitter, I will say.
Then again, Liam's called out Noel's music and people who like Noel's music. So yeh.
And tbh, Noel has a point in the 'replicating Oasis' vibe. But... that is what people want and it's what Liam's best at so at the same time I have absolutely no issue with him doing that and I for one enjoy it.
