Listen Up taking it atm, and rightly so! Apologies for Ballroom Figured and a couple of others being in there, I just couldn't help myself.... Yeah, I Hope I Think I Know is actually really underrated, vocally. My Big Mouth YES, even though the production on that song always pisses me off.... it IS a great vocal though.

Don't Go Away had to be there, outstanding vocals...
Also, She's Electric, you'll never see Liam doing such a gorgeous falsetto

good gawd, this forum... the votes for once must be pisstakes, no? Because no one could possibly really enjoy his new stuff, right? That's an apples to oranges take, but sure. I'd say you can definitely enjoy his new stuff, but then hear that his truly best vocals were generation defining. All-in-all it's personal opinion, of course, but Once being in his top 5 vocals is a head scratcher (at least from my perspective). And I don't think saying so is saying that people can't or shouldn't enjoy his new stuff.

Where's Headshrinker?! I was lucky enough to be at the Astoria warm up up gig for the DBTT tour when it reappeared in the setlist, though I guess he didn't have a very good time with it as it was immediately dropped and never seen again Cant believe a recording never emerged of that.

And I think that it is first time since 2000 that we can call his way of singing his new style because what we were hearing like ten years ago wasn't his new style of singing, it was just his inabality to sing as he once could. You could never say for his Kermit the Frog singing that it was his new style of singing but now, in 2019, we can maybe say that this is his new style. He can't hit those high notes as he once could but I can understand that some people might like color of his voice better now than before. Generation defining vocals was his vocals in 1994-1998 era and yet many people think that he sounded best in 2000/2001. He is definitely singing now, he is not just trying to stay in the tune, fighting for his breath...like he was few years ago. I would say that there are few styles of singing that Liam succesfully managed to create: - DM and MG era - BHN era - SOTSOG era - and what we can hear today Everyone can choose era that they like the most, it's all matter of taste. To me it's also weird to say that he is singing now better than ever but I can understand that.

And I think you can equate the same thing with Noel, where you can chart the height, the rough patch, and the reinvention. Having said that, I don't think I would put anything Noel's written in the last 15 years in his top 5 songs from the 90s. Doesn't mean I enjoy them any less though. So while one might prefer one style to the other, and everyone is open to have an opinion, Liam's 90s vocals are in another world and that's as close to fact as one can get in a subjective art form (in my opinion).

What is up with the choices in this poll? How on earth do TNOR, Kill for a Dream, TBGO, and Bring the Light make the list yet Don't Go Away, Some Might Say, My Big Mouth, and She's Electric don't? This forum continues to amaze me.

What the fuck? Once has 23 votes? Yes Liam's vocals are really good on it but come on. Is this just the hype talking? I mean, it's got more votes than Live Forever. More votes than Live Forever. Lol. It’s not a vote on the quality of the song. Vocal performance is quite difference. Once is probably a more varied, nuanced performance than Live Forever while obviously not being anywhere near as good a song.

Liam himself isn't the biggest fan of his voice in 94’ , it’s not my favourite period for his voice either, even though my favourite Oasis song from that time. I think some of you should probably suspend your horror and consider what the question actually asks.

Some people prefer his more rougher voice of today than his early years. I'd take his vocals on Dig Out Your Soul for example over Definitely Maybe any day. Does that make me fucking mental because it's not the norm? I don't care, it's just what I think and feel.

It’s not a vote on the quality of the song. Vocal performance is quite difference. Once is probably a more varied, nuanced performance than Live Forever while obviously not being anywhere near as good a song. Well that's the problem, it seems to me that people don't vote on the vocal performance, but on the excitement and hype of a new Liam Gallagher song. I'm sure if you ask the same question in like 3 years Once will only get a few votes. Yes his vocals are great on it, but I have a hard time believing some people actually think it's better than most of his 1990's performances. Live Forever is one of his defining vocals, just the outro alone with the falsettos and the last "Gonna live forever"s are far better than Once vocally speaking in my opinion. Well, like I just said, it's just a matter of opinion so it's probably pointless to argue. Live Forever is most definitely one of his defining vocals but I think that comes in a live setting. Like Liam himself DM isn't my favourite era of his singing. Once is a good song, I wouldn't describe it as anywhere near a classic but I don't think its unreasonable to suggest its one of his best performances. And I don't think he has produced many better perfomances than that piano session. Scorpio Rising is another good example of a song that may not be in the top 20 he sang on but it is a brilliant performance.

What the artist thinks is inconsequential to how their art is perceived. That's the public domain.

Anyways, I just personally think there's a difference between your favorite and the best. Holy Mountain is one of my favorite Noel written songs, but I know it's not one of his best. If others blur that line then fine, but I'm not telling anyone they're mental so please don't twist my words.

It wouldn’t be unreasonable to say that Love Like A Bomb is Liam’s worst vocal performance in a studio but I don’t think many people would be saying it’s his worst song. The question here isn’t about a songs quality as a whole.

Definitely Maybe is not my favourite period for Liam's voice either (95-98 would be more like it), but I voted Slide Away anyway because every time I hear it i still feel shivers after I don't know how many years since hearing it for the first time. Everything is perfect in that song and performance

It’s hard to choose his best vocal performance without being swayed by favourite song choices, but I voted anyway.
This one wasn’t included, anyone having it?
