I agree with globe. VAR is like autotune. When something is too perfect, the magic is lost. True perfection has to be imperfect.

Please. You are making it sound like VAR ruins the flow of the game by taking half an hour to make a decision or so, which it doesn't and the domestic league in my country has had it for a year, so i know how it works by now. At most, it's a five minute delay, if that much. Most of the cases, it's settled in a minute.
And the history of this game is full of completely awful referees decisions in critical matches, and that needs to be minimized because that is what can ruin entire games. No amount of passion of the game or what can justify incompetence. It will not make football a computer game, it will make it a game with less errors, and less probability of games being ruined by referees mistakes. The actual football played on the pitch will be the exact same, with the added bonus that your team, or any other, getting fucked over by an offside goal, a ghost penalty or a badly given red card will be less likely and that for me is a plus.

Sterling being ruled offside against West Ham the day there - his fucking shirt sleeve was deemed to be offside by VAR. He is gaining absolutely no advantage. What a load of pish.

for me you either have no errors, or errors. less errors isnt good enough. VAR makes some blatantly terrible calls, so whats the difference between that and the ref doing the same thing. only the ref didnt get to re-watch it over and over. mistakes are part of the game. players make them and refs make them. thats fine by me.

Yep that is bang on. This is the thin end of the wedge. It will gradually creep in more and more to the game until a few years down the line somebody at FIFA will say - “why do we need a ref and the linesmen now” - as the technology will be advanced enough to see everything and we’ll end up with every single decision including throw-ins and corners being decided by VAR.

That doesnt happens with Rugby doesnt it? I feel like var is a step on the correct direction. The next thing to adress is to make the ref like in rugby.

I don't mind VAR when it's used correctly. Here in SA we see some ridiculous decisions being made, even trying to compensate previous errors and such. The other day they wasted 5 (!) minutes checking for offside in a goal. I think it should be like in tennis or field hockey. Each team has 2 or 3 per half and the captain should request the check.
the checks in West Ham-Man City match yesterday were fast but the Jesus disallowed goal and the one by Sterling were exactly the same

Couple of points here mate - rugby is a stop-start game anyway so I really don’t think you can, or should, compare it to football. But if you want to do that, then ok. In rugby, they only go to VAR, or TMO as they call it, when the ref requests it. It appears that in football the VAR people are watching everything and sending the info to the ref regardless. Did you see that hand ball decision in the Leicester v Wolves game? A farce.

Pukki just destroyed Newcastle. What a lad. And one of those late bloomer cases, because he only turned prolific back in 2016 when he was almost 27.
Newcastle are facing the drop unless they fire Bruce. Who the fuck thought hiring him to coach in the EPL in 2019 was a good idea?

VAR is such a disgrace. Is this really what football has come to? The bastardization of the sport.

VAR is such a disgrace. Is this really what football has come to? The bastardization of the sport. As long as it continues to wind up Man City, then it’s all good. The best part was that the rule that fucked them yesterday was partly instituted to prevent situations like City going out of the CL due to Llorente's "handball" goal. Fucked before the rule, fucked after the rule, you love to see it. Meanwhile a massively exhausted Liverpool squad had their worst performance in ages, and are now two points clear of City.
