Liam’s band isn’t a band in the same sense that Beady Eye were though. They are employees on time limited individual contracts, some of them are highly qualified music academics but they can’t make decisions. One of them is the band manager; unfortunately all he can do is bring his frustration and concerns to Liam’s attention. I don’t think it helps that Liam usually travels separately, stays in a different hotel, and doesn’t really see them until he arrives at the venue. I think he needs to be more involved in the engine room rather than isolating himself from the band and crew on tour because I’m sure that’s where a lot of discussion takes place. It’s ironic that the remaining other member of Beady Eye is the one that seems to be letting him down with his ability. I guess Liam just likes having him around. I get the impression that he soundchecks a lot more now though so surely that should help. I think the band is nearly there, just needs Jay to improve or leave.

The thing is that Liam's band sounds like professional musicians who've separately learnt the songs and are playing their parts accurately but there's not really anyhing gelling it together. Don't get me wrong, a Liam gig is a fucking phenomenal experience. But what struck me most about seeing NGHFB for the first time last year after having seen four LG gigs was that they sounded and played like a band. Which also changed my perspective on Noel and Liams's sounds. Liam intends to be a lot more rock n roll on record than Noel does but when it comes to playing live, the sheer loudness and musical density of HFB is something else!

I totally get that Liam wants to get on with the lads in the band, but the response to how bad the band sounded cant have gone unnoticed to the team around Liam. He shouldn't sacrifice the quality of his band, just because Jay might be able to down a few tequillas back stage.
It was ridiculous to have waited this long for Liam to sound this good live, only to be let down by the fucking band. No excuses when he has to many musicians to call on.

I would imagine that costs would a part as well. The current band members have a lower profile and so I would think are paid a lower rate

Only 2 weeks until Liam kicks off his next tour! Less than that for the mini gig. We’re almost there, we made it through!

It's a shame that he is going on tour with the Who and the (actually legally allowed to say this) paedophile Pete Townshend.

He bought and paid fo kiddie porn... got caught and then claimed it was research because he 'wanted to prove the bankers were behind child pornography' If you want to believe that, then hats off to you!

Likely next year for the North America dates Similar length to the 2017/18 tour I think, hopefully not as condensed. North America - I’m not aware of this leg yet. But I’m not sure of anything past March 2020 apart from what’s already announced. America is a tricky one; I think this is why they’re going with the support model in the first instance, to see if it’s more profitable this way. Liam will be excited to play the Hollywood Bowl and the Stadium in Seattle as a solo artist. It’s so costly logistically to get everyone and everything where they need to be. It seems a lot of effort to just break even financially by performing in smaller venues. They may look at it again after this and add a USA leg. Of course there could be something planned that I’m not aware of or to be added to a gap in the dates before March. Sorry I can’t tell you as I really don’t know.

I see, I guess I could always fly somewhere in Europe next year haha. Too bad the who canceled my city Edmonton in October, I bet Liam would’ve been there to open! But I really don’t want to fly to see him as an opener and do a short half hour set. Perhaps Liam will only do the major North American cities this time?

It’s Liam that ultimately decides, he made a few changes to the crew and those backing singers last tour because he wasn’t happy about stuff. He’s not scared of issuing yellows and reds and putting people on the bench.
