The most underrated band of the last 20 years. Fact.

Ordered Lost Souls and Last Broadcast. Huge records for me when they came out. Figured this reunion tour would make them monetize a vinyl reissue campaign. Just makes too much sense.

The most underrated band of the last 20 years. Fact. The only reason I forked out to see Noel Gallagher again was because Doves were supporting him. Agree one of the most underrated British bands of the last 20 years, for me all of their albums are of top quality and There Goes The Fear is one of the greatest singles of the 00's.

The Last Broadcast is the only Doves album I've listened to. Is it worth listening to the others?

I hope these guys are secretly working on a new album. It’ll be 10 years since I last saw them live in New York City.

The Last Broadcast is the only Doves album I've listened to. Is it worth listening to the others? You want to try their debut. Rise, Here It Comes, The Cedar Room, The Man Who Told Everything - I probably prefer these to anything on Last Broadcast (as impressive as that one is).

The Last Broadcast is the only Doves album I've listened to. Is it worth listening to the others? Definitely as everyone who said so far. Massively underrated although The Last Broadcast has their greatest single on it There Goes The Fear, the greatest Stone Roses song not written by them. Some Cities their following album is every bit as great as is Lost Souls their debut. Kingdom of Rust is another great album. Well worth getting their b-side collection Lost Sides as well. Very good Live act as well.

I hope these guys are secretly working on a new album. It’ll be 10 years since I last saw them live in New York City. Doves Prepping “Really Fucking Good” Reunion Album
Last year, we learned that Doves, the grand and cinematic ’00s Brit-rock trio, are getting back together. The band started out by announcing exactly one reunion show, and it happens later this month at London’s Royal Albert Hall. But this won’t be a one-off reunion. And it won’t be one of those reunions where the band just tours, either. According to the members of Doves themselves, they’ve got a whole new album in the works. And that album, if the members of the band do say so themselves, is “very, very good.”
As this Reddit thread points out, the members of Doves made the (possibly premature) announcement in the latest print edition of the UK rock magazine Q. In a feature on the band, drummer Andy Williams says that the album in indeed in the works: “We’ve actually made a start recording it. I mean it’s very, very good. Very good.”
Bassist Jimi Goodwin elaborates:
"Unofficially, we’ve started writing. And it’s really, really good. I brought three to the table, they brought three to the table, we had some we hadn’t licked before that we’ve totally licked now. And they’re all really, really fucking good Doves songs.
Album next year. Hit the road this year, album next year. I can’t get over how quickly we’ve assembled a record. It’s so good working with Jez [Williams] again. He’s an incredible guitarist. So inventive, so melodic, so unique. And we have the luxury that if one of us — probably Jez — brings a late stonker in, we can add that to the picture."
Doves released four albums between 2000 and 2009, and they went on hiatus in 2010, shortly after releasing their final album Kingdom Of Rust. A million things could happen in the next year to prevent the fifth Doves album from coming out, but if they’re optimistic, so are we. Expect stonkers.

The Last Broadcast is the only Doves album I've listened to. Is it worth listening to the others? Definitely for sure. The Last Broadcast is probably their most commercial work. But Lost Souls is a fantastic album.

Can't believe it's been 10 years since Andalucia. Sounds like a real grower, some great layers in there. Amazing to have you back boys, we need you now more than ever.
