This story actually deserves its own thread. Chelsea banned from signing players for the next two consecutive transfer windows: www.bbc.com/sport/football/47329293Chelsea are obviously going to appeal. But while successful appeals do happen on a regular basis, I strongly believe this sanction will be upheld. However, what angers me is that Chelsea’s appeal would postpone this ban for at least a year, giving Chelsea the opportunity to buy players and stack their squad before the ban is imposed, thus completely nullifying the ban and making an utter mockery of the punishment. I hope FIFA can find away around this. I have two suggestions:1. Expedite the appeal process, in order for any denied appeal and consequent transfer ban to be imposed by the start of next season (2019/20), or, 2. Include a clause that makes a denied appeal extend the transfer ban for four conesecutive transfer window (doubling the original sanction, to two full seasons). This would then make Chelsea think twice about appealing, and a denied appeal would still mount to a significant punishment. Regardless, fuck Chelsea. This couldn’t have happened to a more hated club (N.B., it’s been reported that four more clubs may be involved as well).
