I've not heard his version of Married With Children! Would love to. (Apart from the Charity gig in 2010).

Also, ffs, it was a charity gig that a load of footballers were at.
He was hardly gonna whip out a b-side he's never played live before, was he??

It's clear to me there are two acts. He views a Noel Gallagher show as a stripped back show where he plays the same set he played on the solo acoustic tours with Gem and Terry. He will never play a NGHFB song in a 'Noel Gallagher' set. He played if I Had a Gun, TDOYAM and i think one other one with them in a stripped back show in 2015 The other was What a Life!, I believe. Gem joined them before becoming an official HFB.

Everytime when I see Noel smiling on pic, I wonder why he had to be so miserable towards his fans. I met him twice and he looked like he was chewing a bitter insect or something both times. We weren't rude to him. When his roadie Steve (very friendly guy) asked us to stand in a queue, we did. Nobody even said a word to Noel because of how he looked. When I met him for the first time in 2011, a guy who stood next to me said to him "Thank you for coming", but he just ignored and said nothing back. I love Oasis and brother Gallaghers, but I'll never understand why a band/artist makes difference between his/their fans. Don't get me wrong, I'm not starting some stupid "... vs..." arguments, but I'm saying it as I've met quite some bands and most experiences are/were pleasant. Lots of weirdos out there, better be careful with what you say or do when you meet fans i guess. Met him in 2002 and there was no queue, no nothing from the security and he signed everyone's paper or whatever. He was not particularly chatty but then again Liam was not either. I guess since he was attacked onstage it all changed.

Sounds like a fitting, wonderful surprise to me. As far as I'm aware he's played Married With Children once in the last decade before the other night... To put that in perspective, Angel Child, Idler's Dream and Shout It Out Loud have had more outings in that time.

I would buy him a nice cup of coffee next time when I see him. The last time Noel arrived the venue by limo and the band members arrived the venue by tour bus. Bonehead arrived the venue all alone by taxi (for Liam's Amsterdam gig last year). We didn't know it was him. We were like "who's that bald guy walking down to our way?" Bonehead is a top guy.

All Around The World, Stand By Me, Underneath The Sky, Take Me Away, Going Nowhere, Let's All Make Believe, She's Electric, Hello, Stay Young, Up In The Sky, etc. In order, only the highlighted ones... • He won't play a b-side that only hardcore fans care about. • Too drab in my opinion, same issue as the previous one. • Due to the royalties paid to nefarious persons, he will NEVER play this song again live. Glitter was first sent to prison in ‘99 and Oasis opened Finsbury Park with Hello in ‘02... So there’s a chance. X

Ah, the old reliable setlist. He hasn’t opened with It’s Good To Be Free for ages, been dying for him to bring that classic back. X

I have found that people talk utter shite when face to face with someone they idolise, so in a way I understand why he always looks pissed off, but from personal experience if you are happy to wait and dont suddenly spill out some nonsense about what happened to your cat the week before (honestly I heard someone do it!) he will usually accept most requests, even slightly strange ones (which I have asked for) but even I think it wouldnt kill him to talk with people a little more!Ps..... steve is indeed a gent

Nobody else recognized him. I got a hug and he was perfectly nice, just not as boisterous as Liam. I think he described himself perfectly when he said he was a cat lol.

...I guess since he was attacked onstage it all changed. Noel's name was also allegedly high on a list of potential targets they found on the guy who stabbed George Harrison. Between that and the stage attack (and probably the odd disturbing piece of "fanmail" that most famous people seem to get every now and again) I can't blame him for being a bit wary around fans.

Except the second time I didn’t play along. I said “you ever smile, you damper?” He stopped in his tracks looked at the small crowd and said “who said that?” “I did, you miserable sod”. He laughed waved me over, signed my vinyl.

Noel was a bit of a vagina to everyone when we met him a few years back. Signed stuff for everyone except one girl and then just walked off. Kinda changed how I viewed him personally. Then again, the Arctic Monkeys acted like a hotdog was too important to come say hi to 5 of us standing outside waiting to meet them hours before a show, so there’s always that.

I wonder how Noel does not get bored playing the same songs all the time. All great songs but the number of gems he could play but never does play is mad. The greatest question I want someone to ask Noel in the interviews is why he doesn't pick songs from all eras of his music to play live. Why does he continue to play the same stuff over and over with very little variation? 6 of 8 songs were recorded in 1994 interestingly. I would also love to hear him play other songs. Lots of great noel sung numbers from the 00s.
