Harry Kane > Miles Kane. Thanks. Michael Kane (a piss poor bargain bin lookalike agency persona of Michael Caine) > Miles Kane

Saw Miles at TRNSMT and got tickets for his Newcastle gig in December. The new material sounds really good and his new band came together well - think it’s Jamie T’s old drummer, she’s brilliant.
Miles is just 100% authentic for me, he’s having a ball every gig and it’s infectious. Always delivers with the material aswell, he keeps finding good collaborations to push his work forward. Look forward to the full album next month

Great return for Miles, really digging this album both around the house and in the gym.

The album's ace. Already listened to it 4 or 5 times. His best one so far.

Every time I hear that Arcade Fire song it reminds me of Miles (and Kasabian too!).
Thought you were praying to the resurrector; turns out it was just a reflector. (Just a reflector) Thought you were praying to the resurrector; turns out it was just a reflector. (Just a reflector) Thought you were praying to the resurrector; turns out it was just a reflector. (Just a reflector)
Just a reflector. Just a reflector. Just a reflector.
But I see you on the other side.
Just a reflector.

New single "Can You See Me Now" is out. Less commercial than "Shockwave"

Liam was at Miles Kane's gig last night, nice that they support each other.
I like The Last Shadow Puppets and his solo music too, but there's something off-putting about him, idk.

How fucking good is his 4th album. My favourite yet. Though maybe it's because it's fresh. I've always loved his albums. I seem to be in a place in my life right now where this one is really singing to me. I feel he must be feeling exactly the same as me when writing it. I love how he has taken a lot of the 60s or Motown influence from that super group he was in. Still very very t rex. Can't wait to see him perform it live in a few months!

I loved his first solo album and it was a great album. I've seen Miles as The Last Shadow Puppets in 2008 and he impressed us, then seeing him as a support act for Beady Eye in 2011 as solo blew our mind. He was fantastic. Saw him for a couple of times afterwards, but after his second album I lost interst in him.
A really nice lad to talk with. Gonna check his new album soon.

Anyone found the songwriting credits ? His other records are all co-credited, but this one seems a bit different ?
It's his strongest to date, on par with the Shadow Puppets records, id be nice if he actually wrote it all himself.

Yeh I've liked his other albums (not loved), seen him a good few times. He seems like a good lad as well. But he does annoy the fuck out of me, I don't know why either I'll give him album a whirl, then might go see him in Cardiff

It's fun album. Nothing special, I will give it few more chances. I actually love all those obvious rip off parts that album is full of.

He seems like a good lad as well. But he does annoy the fuck out of me, I don't know why either He acts like he is big rockstar but he is average at everything. Which I personally don't seem as the problem. But generally many people are ready to forgive stars many things if they are great at what they're doing. If your work can't back up your behaviour, people hate you more. I don't like that and don't agree with that personally.

Lots of Lennon parts and pick up alot of other stuff - not a bad thing but obvious influences. Gave it a couple of listens now and like it better than his last album put it that way

He is always good but is just not talented enough to make something great. He needs help. Maybe he should make the band with some really talented rockstar, that would probably work out.

I understand why people despise him, i'm only in for the music really, but doubt i would hang out with the guy. Unpopular opinion maybe, but to make music like that, you probably need to be a bit of a dick. Probably the same feeling some people get with Liam too.

Never Get Tired Of Danicing is ripping of BDI Standing On The Edge Of The Noise (verses melody). Anyone else hearing it?

He is always good but is just not talented enough to make something great. He needs help. Maybe he should make the band with some really talented rockstar, that would probably work out. That was always my impression as well. He has some talent, I like all of his albums, his best songs are really enjoyable. But in comparison to people like Alex Turner he just falls short by quite a bit - he just doesn't have that spark of genius. That makes it a bit weird to see him act the big rock star persona in videos, gigs and interviews, like he's trying to be Liam Gallagher without having the talent of either Noel or Liam. The Beady Eye comparison kinda works too, I did really like BDI and listened to them quite a bit, but the music clearly lacks the mass appeal of the "big brother" bands (TLSP and Oasis respectively). Miles's songwriting really shines in energy, vibe, production, but he can't write a world class chorus to save his life.

I agree with the fact that Miles Kane will never be a "major" artist, but to me he is a more complete musician than Liam in many ways.
- great guitarist (his solos are something), multi-instrumentalist (piano, bass drums sax... etc) - very good songwriter, let's not forget he's responsible for half of the perfect two TLSP records + Come Closer, My Fantasy which are fantastic tunes. I dont know about the new record but if he wrote Coming of Age, Caroline, or Tears are falling alone then it's step ahead of Liam for me.
He obviously need outside help for writing and recording, and it's not grounbreaking music, but sometimes it doesn't need to be. He will always be compared to Alex Turner, which is his main handicap. If he was a complete separate artist, he would be more respected i think. Just like George Harrison in the Beatles. He just cant win compared to the master.
Overall i enjoy his records, i probably wouldn't take them on a desert island but they are always a fun listen, they don't try and be too pretentious. Good ol rock n roll.
