Haha, what the fuck is that bit of rapping at the end? As a whiteboy from the mean streets of Bolton, Greater Manchester I'm sure I could improvise something better than that in one go. It's him taking the piss after all the controversy - he tweeted he was gonna drop a song with intense lyrical rapping that would clear up the whole situation, got everyone really hyped...then does that. He literally just trolled the culture of an entire genre. It's like if Noel dropped Bonehead's Bank Holiday after pretending it was that mindblowing lead single from Be Here Now.

So it seems the lyrical thing he was talking about was real! Just a kind of offhand freestyle thing with TI recorded the other night... dbr.ee/A7r6LYRICS, KANYE IN BOLD: I know Obama was Heaven-sent But ever since Trump won it proved that I could be PresidentYeah you can, at what cost though? Don't that go against the teachings that Ye taught for? Yo T.I.P, I hear your side and everybody talk though But ain't goin' against the grain everything I fought for?
Prolly so, Ye, but where you tryna go with this? It's some shit you don't align with and don't go against You just readin' the headlines, you don't see the fine print You on some choosin'-side shit, I'm on some unified shitIt's bigger than your selfish agenda If your election ain't gon' stop police from murderin' niggas Bruh, I never ever stopped fightin' for the peopleActually wearin' the hat'll show people that we're equalYou gotta see the finer point of the people What makes you feel equal makes them feel evil See that's the problem with this damn nationAll Blacks gotta be Democrats, man, we ain't made it off the plantationFuck what you choose as your political party You representin' dudes who seem crude and cold-hearted With blatant disregard for the people who put you niggas in So don't you feel an obligation to them? I feel an obligation to show people new ideas And if you wanna hear 'em, here go two right here Make America Great Again, had a negative reception I took it, wore it, rocked it, gave it a new direction Added empathy, care and love and affection And y'all simply questionin' my methods
What you willin' to lose for the point to be proved? This is stubborn selfish bullshit, even for you You wore a dusty ass hat to represent the same views As white supremacy, man, we expect better from you All them times you sounded crazy, we defended you, homie Now just be down and we depend on you, homie That's why it's important to know what direction you're goin' now 'Cause everything that you built can be destroyed and torn down You think I ain't concerned about how I effect the past? I mean I had stayed in my closet about a year and a half Then one day I was like, "Fuck it, I'ma do me" I was in the sunken place and then I found the new me Not worried 'bout some image that I gotta keep up Lot of people agree with me, but they're too scared to speak up
The greater good of the people is first Have you considered all the damage and the people you hurt? You had a bad idea, and you're makin' it worse Shit's just as bad as Catholic preachers rapin' in church Y'all been leadin' with hate I just be approaching it different Like a gang truce I know everybody emotional Is it better if I rap about crack? Huh? 'Cause it's cultural? Or how about I'ma shoot you, or fuck your bitch? Or how about this gucci, because I'm fuckin' rich
?Dear to god? for the lack of respect Started to make a scene like Donny cut you a check Toyin' with hot lava, better be careful with that What's it mean to gain the world if you ain't standin' for shit? Okay I gotta say it, Ye, you sound high as a bitch Yeah, genocide and slavery, we should just try and forget All that free thought shit find a better defense But if Ye's stuck in his way, he can leave it at that, Fuck it Alright T.I.P., we could be rappin' about this all day, man, why don't we just cut the beat off and let the people talk?

Not a bad track, but it sounds like it was only recorded to capitalize on the controversy he caused rather than clarify or defend himself.
Also, a friend of mine floated the other day that it's possible that Kanye is faking support for Trump just to promote his new album, pointing to how Kanye made similar, attention-grabbing provocations in the lead-up to his other albums. Like grabbing the mic from Taylor! And posting "BILL COSBY INNOCENT!!!!!!" And getting into a Twitter feud with Wiz Khalifa. Y'know, that might actually be right.

"I'm a producer, I'd like to segue things, I'd like to take Otis, chop it off, do it like this so what's the Ye version? The Ye version would be the Trump campaign and the Bernie Sanders principles. That would be my mix, my production. I think both are needed." Something that makes a little sense from Ye on this.

As much of a genius as he is, I don't know how long I can call myself a fan of Kanye when he's coming out with the ill-informed toxicity that he is right now. And that hurts to say. I watched the TMZ interview and...he's losing his mind. He doesn't stop moving or talking, shouting about how he got liposuction and is insecure, breathing loudly, almost snarling and grinning while admitting that he hasn't been taking his meds and doesn't want therapy.
Kanye, get help. Or else read a fucking book and stop making it so hard to love you when you've made such amazing music.

I take antidepressants and seeing Ye bellowing about how he doesn't take his pills because he thinks doing so makes him scared of himself or compromises his vision...man, that's terrifying. I'm not defending the toxic bullshit he said in that interview about history (as if he knows fuck-all about history), but I'm genuinely scared for him right now. Maybe we've all been sneering/cheering at his "eccentricities" so much since Donda died that whatever mental illness he has is starting to become his personality. I just want him to read a few books, take his pills, get some therapy, and get back to G.O.O.D music.

Just watched that TMZ video, and it really made me worried about this guy's mental state. Jesus Christ. Hope he gets the help he needs.
A funny thing though: The same people that replied "yeah" to Kanye's question if they thought he was thinking freely(which in itself is a sign that the guy's not 100% ok) then turned around and applauded that other guy's reply/speech in which he was criticising Kanye. Ok, maybe it wasn't the same people both agreeing and clapping, but I thought it was a funny moment anyway.

So...erm...The College Dropout is a pretty amazing album, right guys? I’d give Late Registration the edge mainly because the songs are bigger and the production is better, but The College Dropout is a more cohesive album. Late Registration is all over the place, but songs like Drive Slow, Gone, and Diamonds from Sierra Leone are so freaking good.
