Nice interviewer; very happy he let Liam talk, and very happy he wasn't quietly condescending like some other interviewers.
Liam always gets the 'you're a parent now, aren't you...' line though, and gives the same "I haven't got a leg to stand on, have I?" answer haha

Brilliant from Liam there.
Weirdly enough, I was listening to a Noel interview from September 2012 earlier, where he mentions how him and Liam had text over the previous Christmas and that he'd seen Liam when City won the league and Liam insulted him but not in any other way than just being a general annoying little brother. There was no malice, and Noel didn't slag him.
I've heard the interview before, and it reminded me of the interview from the start of the CY tour when Noel was asked about Beady Eye breaking up and he said it was a shame and if he had any advice to Liam, it would just be to not go chasing it and not to f it up.
Looking back on it now, that was the closest we'll ever get to reconciliation any time soon ultimately.
Something's changed, in both of them. It's like it's gone back to 2009, but worse. Noel hates Liam so much that he doesn't view him as 'anything' any more, that much is clear. And Liam doesn't like Noel. It's a shame, but it is what it is.
And at the moment we've got both of them on form both on stage and behind the camera. So while I never got to see Oasis or experience what it was like, I'm glad I'm at an age now where they're both at the forefront once again. It's a sad reflection on the current state of British music in terms of my generation lacking an era-defining band, but it is what it is.

Without playing the blame game, I think Liam is angry at how Noel portrayed him after the split and it's just spiralled out of control - on both their parts. I think it really stems from last year (or the year before?) when Liam said something about Sara. I think Noel - being Noel - brushed his hands of Liam at that point. As the famous quote in Supersonic goes - 'Noel has a lot of buttons, and Liam has a lot of fingers' They both need to grow up, but it is what it is.

"As soon as you tell someone its about that, they stop exploring" What he says is so true, and it applies to more than music; books, films, people. We like putting things in boxes and defining them - mainstream media likes to characterise Liam as dim-witted and aggressive, for instance. Some people see this media represenation of him and just stop exploring. But Liam can be incredibly profound, and recently he's been showing more of his sensitive side to us all. It's great.
