Also Evil Twin being a b-side is almost 90's Oasis level of sacrilege tbh

AM was shit. Their HC. Fucking dreadful. Nothing the Arctic Monkeys have ever done is close to the dreadfulness of HC.

I like Arctic Monkeys, have all their albums and their two best - in my opinion, their debut and AM - but it's difficult not to believe that they are overrated.
They were a good band when they came out, however they were the band that the NME desperately wanted/needed, and it just seemed more a matter of convenience their hype at a time when the indie mags were desperate to cling onto something. A very good debut album but not a bonafide great album that the NME overhyped it as.
Similarly, I think their perfect 10/10 rating for AM was more desperation than anything what with the scant number of guitar bands around.

But I didn't know they had given AM a 10, I now feel like breaking something, or banging my head into a wall. What a joke.

I always thought "Humbug" was them trying on some bigger boys clothes. All riffs and no heart. Bar "Cornerstone" which is one of their best songs imho.

Humbug is the best one and AM is pretty good but should've had at least one more R U Mine type of a song in the middle of it

I really like AM. It's a good album overall and tbh it was the first I listened from them. Do I Wanna Know is a track that got me tired but I must admit that is a good song. I Want It All is by far the most boring song on the record. But come on. Fireside is an underrated gem,Knee Socks is brilliant and even Snap Out Of It is a great one.

I generally like all their albums, however the AM will always represent a missed opportunity for me. If they had half the ambition that Oasis had they could have been huge.
There lack of interviews, or certainly interesting interviews, has held them back. They might argue that they are more than happy with their lots number one albums and sell out tours when ever they emerge, bit they could have been as big as Oasis but didn't fancy it.

Hopefully we get a single within a couple of weeks. AM bar R U Mine? & Do I Wanna Know was pretty average.

Whatever People Say I Am.... Favorite Worst Nightmare Humbug AM Suck it and See
---
Can't wait to see what they release next. I don't like the new logo, and the artwork suggest some kind of electronic sound, but we'll wait and see.

In order: 1. Favourite Worst Nightmare 2. Suck it and See 3. Whatever People Say I Am... 4. AM 5. Humbug
Obviously AM is a good album (as they all are) but I only really see it as the album that 15 year old girls buy as their first vinyl record for their crosley cruiser... Other than that it's an average album!

Confirmed facts:
- James Ford will produce the album - There will be a b-side called Sandtrap where Miles Kane will be featuring - Part of the album its been recorded in Sheffield where the former bassist participated
Rumours:
- Alexandra Savior will be featuring backing vocals in some tracks - First single will be called Put Me In A Terror Pocket or at least it will be on the record - The single will be out in the final week of February - Sound influenced by Tame Impala,Iggy Pop,Alexandra Savior,The Last Shadow Puppets
Some of these rumours are so obvious but well...the source was an NME article and the confirmed stuff was told by Miles Kane and pictures of the band.

AM is filled with bland filler, with some good singles mixed in. Just like HC. Poor. Poor. Poor.
Problems with AM:
1. R U Mine and Do I Wanna Know are too similar to be back-to-back singles. One or the other, lads. Not both. 2. I Want It All, bland 3. No. 1 Party Album, bland. Worst Arctic Monkeys song ever. wtf. [Up there with Dangerous Animals for that title] 4. Fireside, bland 5. Snap Out of It, bland 6. Knee Socks, bland
I Want It All, No. 1 Party Album, Fireside, Snap Out of It, Knee Socks are all irrelevant pish. Too many utterly inconsequential bland fillers for a band as big as Arctic Monkeys. Half the album is just so poor. YAWN.
