How funny would it be if Trump got coronavirus? Regardless, I just want Trump out of the White House. Biden or Sanders, it doesn't matter as western democracy is going down the shitter anyway (this stuff is going to get worse before it gets better), but at least we will be rid of all dog whistle racism, bullying and sexism. For now. However, I do believe the 'race for the White House' or whatever elections occur is just two bald men fighting over a comb (no I'm not referencing Trumps wig). It's pointless isn't it? There's such a lack of wellbeing and lack of trust in humankind these days that you have to ask it goes bigger than government structure. It's the destruction of community and home, and the lack of certainty, roots, values and identity as profit, materialism, competition and status takes predominance. Globalisation and neoliberal policies sucking away fundamental human values I think and the things that really matter. Trump is only president because he's exploiting this insecurity, not placating it. A change in the White House will do nothing at all because the damage has already been done, and the wider implications will only exacerbate over the years. I do think we're headed for a paradigm shift of some sorts, a loss of confidence with western thought. That's not to look forward to it thouugh - like the rise of fascism, it's about discontent being sown for a number of years due to unseen forces before it all comes to a head with horrifying results. Spot on, matt . And I think the irreparable destruction of the environment is the event that we're heading towards. I've said it before and I'll say it again: you can vote for who you want, but as long as the fundamental decisions of human production are made by an elite minority with vested interests, you're just delaying the inevitable. Some form of co-operative economy is needed. What we produce, where and how we produce it, and what we do with the profits created are the decisions at the heart of any society, and letting them be decided purely by CEO's and Boards of Directors with no accountability to the communities they operate in is what's causing the pain that nationalists like Trump are feeding on. They can shut down a prosperous business in Detroit, and move it to China. No-one in that business or in Detroit has any say in it. They can destroy our environment and no-one but them has any say. They can replace millions of jobs with automation and no-one but them will have any say in it. Until there is democracy in the workplace, democracy in the government is basically just damage control.

It's such an insidious culture though - give half a chance to those on the bottom rung of the ladder and they will do the same. Not because it's human nature but it's because of the way we are conditioned to think. Society needs to go out of its way to increase social capital and bonds of trust and kinship. That's through voluntary organisations and community organisations, whether that be recreational or for the welfare of others, and getting involved in these to bring people together. At least some semblance of community would be great to see again, and by getting these building blocks in place, then people will be more receptive to moral and ethical change.

I wasn't following politics back in '08 or 2012, but it seems like he was a lot more coherent and "together" back then, as well as a good debater(at least there is an example of him against Paul Ryan that I've heard being referenced a few times). You can say none of that about him today. And if you look at a compilation of just some of his most recent gaffes, I find it hard to believe anyone would look at that and not think there's something wrong with him. If not the beginning of a cognitive disease, at the very least a serious lack of stamina that is making him look weak and unfit for the presidency. Every day he's speaking to the public he's contributing to Trump's attack ads. I mean I couldn't even believe the thing with him calling his sister his wife(or vice versa) less than 24 hours ago! And this will just continue, now without a crowd of candidates to hide behind. This is what I don't understand, same with people who vote for trump. Do people in America listen to candidates or what? Nobody in Germany or at least the majority would ever vote for candidate who can't even speak coherent sentences. It's so weird to me. Every time I see trump rambling on one of his rallies I find it hard to follow him intellectually but people around him seem to enjoy it? Aye that’s what I don’t get. Regardless of your political views, how can you listen to Trump talk about ANYTHING and then think to yourself - “This guys sounds sensible and knows what he’s talking about, think I’ll vote for him”. Rather than - “What the actual fuck is this daft looking kunt talking about”. Which is what everyone on planet earth surely thinks when the massive racist kunt opens that stupid gob of his?

America as thick as the UK. Confirmed. Screw public safety, got to keep the GDP up and all the profits raging. The ultimate goal in life. They’d sell their grandmothers bodies for a few pennies more, the shower of wankers.

He's probably still a good few hundred-thousand off Bush Jr's body count. Not for lack of trying, though, those drone strike increases should get the job done given enough time.

Guys, I'm starting to think that letting a game show host whose catchphrase was "you're fired" run our country probably wasn't a good idea
