I really don't understand why people are being so vicious and are throwing with words as "Liam/Noel fanboy" and "battle". Why can't you just enjoy something without insulting others?
Also, what kind of battle is this exactly? A battle between someone's third album which sounds unlike most things he's done before and which wasn't created to be a specific commercial success and someone's debut album which sounds Oasis-y, is specifically created for the masses (as a comeback) and had help from a team of co-writers? What is the point, really?

If you don't like Who Buikt The Moon?, no problem. If you don't like As You Were, no problem. Everyone has their own taste, choice. It's dead boring and a shame not to enjoy the music. And before anyone jumps on like "certain moderators don't like people on here to debate", it's not true. Yoi should be able to discuss without having a big mouth to each other.

Most people dont like change. Same old same old is fine, and I like As You Were. In the end, As You Were is a good product, WBTM is an artistic creation.
It all depends what you are looking for in music. With its army of songwriters, Liam can deliver 1000 As You Were.
Cant say i was happy when Noel announced he was going for a dance producer, but in the end, it worked. So nicely done.
Now, It's Liam's first record and he needed confidence, for people to dig his songwriting. Next step is to lose all his prepaid songwriters and do it all only with a producer. Then and only the, he will be in the same league as Noel. And lose the product part.

I think a lot of it comes down to expectation too. I know Noel has written 9 and 10/10 albums before so whenever there are songs I genuinely don't like I get a bit deflated. Whereas I never thought in a million years that an album where Liam has written half the songs could ever be anything other than a disaster, so As You Were is a pleasant surprise almost every time I put it on. In terms of quality they're actually not that far apart, but I would make As You Were an 8 and The Moon a 7.5 at the moment.

Noel has lost his mojo. Most of the songs of the album are simply boring. The ones released before this Friday are among the best as mediocre as they are. At least they were interesting. The rest of the songs are just forgettable. It's clearly possible to recognise that Noel didn't have any songs and tried to write the album in the studio, therefore we have no proper B-Sides (an instrumental and a live bonus track), two instrumental fillers and many many listen-and-forget songs. The bird with the scissor is just a marketing stunt and the french text is the cringiest and worst lyric a Gallagher ever had on a record. I was really looking forward to this as I enjoyed many BE/NGHFB remixes and I'm not even a "pure rock n roller" (I love Chem Bros, Death in Vegas, Justice,...) but this album is just weak. Liam has clearly won this "battle" although he took the safe route and released a straight forward 1996 rock album. I would have loved to publish a different impression but it's ssimply not possible.

The only song I come back to, so far, is dead in the water.
The rest are, currently, throwaways. Good Rebels.

We could argue for hours about quality and we will never agree. It's subjetive. Although AYW is clearly winning here. But i'd never though that in 2017, after Beady Eye and two Noel's successful albums, Liam would outsell Noel so clearly. And that in 2017 Liam would be a more relevant act in UK. Yes, probably Liam and his PR team has done some things right, but it's obvious Noel&his team must have done some things wrongly. Not only bad promotion, because Noel's done a lot of press&radio. Maybe, just maybe, this album isn't as good as it used to be... Maybe, just maybe, this album isn't as good as it used to be... Taylor Swift outsell both, outsell Oasis, so she might be making better music, I'm thinking of becoming a Swifty rn... I think Liam's AYW sounds more like Oasis MK2 than WBTM also AYW songs are more direct, more commercial, which doesn't make it better or worse, just different. Now can we stop the childish competition?

What I'm really not enjoying is his new look. Constantly in all black. Fucking Steve Jobs turtlenecks. Bono's fucking done something to him.

He added that this song makes everyone happy, even Kim Jong-un will dance with this song. I don't mind this song. Only song I still can't really get into is It's A Beautiful World. and Bold is the best and my most favourite song from As You Were. Brilliant.

I'd put Holy Mountain above all but Wall of Glass, Bold, and Paper Crown. Come Back to Me runs it close, in fairness, but I can't air-flute to that one so...

'Bold' is my favourite song from both albums. It's the best song Liam has put out since the Oasis days.
Paper Crown, Come Back To Me, Greedy Soul, Wall Of Glass, For What It's Worth, I've All I Need -- It's A Beatiful World, She Taught Me How To Fly, Keep On Reaching, If Love Is The Law, The Man Who Built The Moon and Fort Knox are all great tunes.
What a year to be a Gallagher fan. Probably the best year since sometime in the 90's.

I don't think either Liam or Noel would disagree with it.
