Still think it is rubbish ,can’t beleive Noel has put this out Looking forward to this cycle being over . The tour set list is disappointing as well but why should the tour of a crap album be any different. Such a shame

Been listening to it for two days already. Instantly modified the order of the songs FK and HM in the beggining felt tooooo long, proper BHN stuff. It all seemed weird in the wrong sense. Then i placed them like this: 1.if love is the law 2.she taught me how... 3.the man who built.. 4.interlude 1 5.god help us all 6.black and white.. 7.fort knox 8.be careful what you 9.keep on reaching 10.end credits 11.itsabeautiful w.. And im actually enjoying it. But not as much as Asyouwere . IDHTBTW is better than almost every one of these songs bar TMWBTM which is great. But IDHTBTW is only a bonus ttrack. So thats basically the diference btw both albums to me. Each to there own but I can't imagine Fort Knox being anywhere other than the start.

Love the album a lot more than before, still hate As You Were, I can only hope Liams 2nd outing is better. I do enjoy Come Back To Me and Universal Gleam (Live) though, Come Back To Me was a great surprise track on the album. Anyway.
I love the flow of WBTM, could do without the pointless interludes though. Hopefully next album will be even better, as much as I like this its still his weakest album.

Let’s be honest. This record isn’t a big sonic departure or style change as Noel and Holmes would make you believe. I think it leans more on safer Noel territory than career risking path. The big key is energy. That's what was missing from the High Flying Birds, and it's notably added in WBTM, making everything much more distinct and, importantly, replay-able. Yep, this is what does it for me and why it’s a big departure for me. I don’t think Noel ever said it was ‘experimental’ - this isn’t artistic, it’s pure fun. In the sense that (a) it’s more sonically dynamic than anything he’s done and (b) is vibrant and isn’t full of the same plodding trash of previous albums. Night and day between his previous albums. It’s not ‘experimental’ in terms of its compositions - my favourite songs are actually more conventionally structured, but it is a stylistic change that was desperately needed.

The press release described it as “experimental” and, I kid you not, containing “ambient electronica”! www.umusic.ca/press-releases/noel-gallaghers-high-flying-birds-announce-built-moon/X

Every Gallagher related release since SOTSOG has had right at 4 or 5 tunes I regularly come back to and enjoy.
Surprisingly, there are so far only 2 on WBTM I can say the same for.
Never would have thought I would find Noel’s long awaited “reinvention” so strangely dull.

Well it's a bit disingenuous to complain about nonsense lyrics. That ship sailed a long time ago with Elsa and her Alka Seltzer, and the sink full of fishes. 😂 Yeah but after so many years one would expect some content in the choice of words.. But it feels emptier than the instrumentals. Maybe this other one has also sailed, but i just finished watching the never ending story movie with my son and ILITL has the same melody as the movie's main song. Nothing new from the older gallagher. Ill stick to as you were and hope for great new LG material.

I still love it but it's too short. The interludes shouldn't be counted in the tracklist/ number of songs.

this album reminds me of sotsog. Consistent in terms of "direction" ( compared to an album like HC), but 3 instrumentals, 1 bonus song, 2 obvious stinkers (KOR, BCWYWF), at least 1 song that I must force myself to like (does that make sense to anyone?) in TMWTM, 1 song that I like but ultimately know it's average (ILITL) leaves just 2 good and 1 great song, hence it just falls short

I've been listening to WBTM a lot lately.
I must be the only person who absolutely loves BCWYWF. It's the most mature thing Noel's ever written. I continually go back to it to catch every layer. There aren't many Gallagher songs where I can say that something new reveals itself to me on every listen. But the feel and vibe of the track is something I've been wanting from Noel for a bit.
The only song I can't bring myself to fully embrace is Keep On Reaching. A good idea that never went past the idea stage.
The rest of the album makes for an album I keep returning to. I really hope Noel continues down this road. Honestly, I'll be severely disappointed if he returns to the stuff he's been trotting out for 20 odds years now.

I didn't quite enjoy Be Careful What You Wish for early on but its grown on me now, its easy on the ears. I loathed Keep On Reaching and Black & White Sunshine at first but now Keep On Reaching has grown on me, catchy beat. I absolutely hate Black & White Sunshine, it sounds like Do The Damage with The Good Rebel in one song, doesn't do anything for me.

BCWYWF was the first song I really "clicked" with when the album came out. The live version of it, i find addictive... I'm constantly going back to it, as as Noel puts it Ysee makes it even better than it is. I also share your opinion regarding KOR. WBTM is an album of layers. Very dense on first listen, but amazingly good if you allow it to get under your skin.

I really like Keep On Reaching. Yeah I said it. It's a gem. To each their own. But my issues, are the lyrics being cringey, Noel's vocals being buried in the mix, and within the first 45 seconds you pretty much have the song, that is, lots of bells and whistles, but no progression past that.

Keep On Reaching sounds like a Beady Eye idea that Noel has gone away with and put the necessary effort into to make it decent. Its still mediocre by Noels standard though I think.
The 'can you keep a secret' bit grates on me.

Keep On Reaching might be the worst track on the album and there's some competition though.

Keep On Reaching might be the worst track on the album and there's some competition though. The worst two on WBTM are KOR and BCWYWF I think. For the former, if I want a Beady Eye song I go straight to Beady Eye (for the added power of the LG vocal). And for the latter, if I want a slow, 'how the world works' tune, I go straight to Bob Dylan.
