He needs David Holmes for interviews. Ok, we've heard that story 93432432532 times, now say something else. is it really his fault that he is asked the same questions all the time? is it his fault you watch every single interview, knowing the same questions will be asked?

"I still feel the greatest song in the world is around the corner"
"I still listen to the album [WBTM] and hear something and think What's that ? a guitar or a synthesizer ? Oh wait, it's a pair of scissors ! " :-)

Interesting morphing of the "What A Life" story - around the time of NGHFB it was said that WAL was a fully formed song but more like the version played at the Radio 2 show in December '15... he was hesitant to put another song like that on the album, so wasn't sure what to do with it, until he heard that piano part, reworked WAL to fit it, asked a kid to play it, etc.
Still mostly the right story but only half the story.

Can't believe he's still playing What A Life. One of the worst songs of all time. Dislike button.

Great watch ....really enjoyed it
Some observations - hate the French shouting in Beautiful World - First time I have really enjoyed Holy Mountain (just the Set ya on fire made me cringe) - Love Chris Sharrock and his drumming - Hate the Zutons bass guy CRINGE - Don't like how Noel compares himself to greats and talks about his own talent (leave that to others, sounds pretentious)

He's easily one of the top songwriters of the rock era. Others are better lyricists and storytellers, but for me? Only the Beatles had greater melodic ability.

Yeah, i mean he was pretty down to earth to me in this itw, saying he's a regular guy with a unique talent. It's true. Denying it would be worse imho, like a fake denial.

Noel talking about his song writing process is fascinating and he's actually more humble about it than people give him credit for. He obviously acknowledges the greatness of the songs but doesn't pretend he knows exactly how they come to him and what they mean, it's almost like he's just a channel for a song to drop out of the sky and come into being. I love the new album but when you think about Noel's process, the Holmes method of working may lead to more adventurous production but not always the best songs. History seems to support the idea that Noel writes his best tunes at home on an acoustic guitar.
