Unlike the Taylor Swift Mania thread, I’m not interested in seeing half naked pictures of him. Sorry, Ed.
I never really paid much attention to him until recently and can’t quite figure out this forum’s disdain for his music. It’s pretty solid, and he seems like a sound guy in all fairness. I’d take Ed Sheeran over Chris Martin any day. Just saying. Now, as you were.

You're kidding, right? The vast majority of Ed Sheeran's music is far duller than anything Coldplay's ever put out - with the exception of A Head Full of Dreams. I thought Divide was pretty damn boring to be honest, while there are a few good tunes on his other two albums, especially The A Team. But other than that, I can't stand his music. Over the summer I heard Shape of You in at least three different countries. There's no escaping him no matter where in the world you are!!!

Insipid. Just like Taylor Swift there are some good "pop" artists around, if you're into it. Why do you listen to the shit ones?

Why do you listen to the shit ones?People do because they buy into the media and record company colluded hype designed to boost ratings and sell records. That and they fall for him being 'edgy' because he has collaborated with artists such as Laid Blak, ignoring that Ed's role is usually to strum the same three or four wooden chords whilst his collaborative partners do any genuinely interesting or innovative work on the record.

Just downloaded Divide - my first ever Ed Sheeran album.
To be fair, Castle on the Hill is catchy AF.

Okay, I concede. Beige artist.
Has a few good songs, but after listening to two of his three albums (Plus, and Divide) he's very, very mediocre. And very, very dull and samey.
Plus is a decent debut. But apart from his standout tracks, it's just mediocre filler. Divide is well shit. Kind of reminds me of Heathen Chemistry - good singles, shit otherwise.
For me to suggest he is as good and as relevant as Taylor Swift was a shameful thing to say. I apologize greatly, Taylor, please forgive me.

You know what I can't stand about Adele and Ed Sheeran? That they both seem like awesome and funny people compared to the rest of them, but it doesn't reflect in their music.
I must say I saw Ed at a festival 3 years ago and I had a pretty good time. It was him, a guitar and a loop pedal. Didn't really mind his music back then, just like I didn't mind Adele when her first album was out. It seems like they both got worse over the years, more dull and MOR.

Makes a shitload of money writing songs for others though, most of them hits (Bieber, Major Lazer, One Direction)

It would be ‘perfect’ if I never heard that Ed Sheeran song ever again. Most over played piece of pish here in the states.

Really liked + a few years ago, but can't stand it now. Probably because you hear his songs almost everywhere.
